As more tests and actual game experience were accumulated by increasing Ifrit users, it was proven that even defending a single tile makes Ifrit worth adding to the squad. Her linear range doesn’t stop her from being a top-tier operator.
Ifrit Operator Guide
Ifrit is a 6* operator that specializes in long-range AOE arts damage.
Flamethrower
Talents
Her first talent, “Mental Dissolution,” debuffs all enemies within her range, reducing their arts resistance significantly. This caps at -44% at P3 rank.
Her second talent, “Rhine Circuity,” provides an SP regeneration every few seconds. This caps at 2 SP every 5.5 seconds at P6 Rank.
Both talents are excellent as Ifrit doesn’t find many issues dealing with art damage when reducing the enemy’s art resistance. Her second talent charges up any of her skills fast.
Skills
Skill 1
Her first skill, “Fanaticism,” is a buff that provides a small boost on ATK but significantly increases her ATKSPD for 20 seconds. It does not have any additional effects, but the average and burst DPS are poor. Average DPS was sitting at 510 while burst DPS is at 746. No reason to upgrade this to M3 unless you are a hardcore hipster in spirit.
Skill 2
Her second skill, “Sunburst,” is an auto-trigger attack that significantly improves the damage of the next attack. Additionally, it reduces the enemy’s defense by a flat amount and burns them for 3 seconds.
Skill 3
Her third skill, “Burning Ground,” is a manually triggered burst that deals significant damage to all enemies within her range per second for 20 seconds. Additionally, it reduces their arts resistance while Ifrit also loses 2% max HP per second.
Choosing between skill 2 or skill 3 for Ifrit usually ends up in a considerable debate, but numbers show that both skills have more or less the same average DPS. Choosing which one is better can be done through two different methods.
Ifrit Skill 1 vs Skill 2
The first method to choose which is better would depend on the stage. Sometimes you might want consistent AOE DPS; this makes her skill 2 much more favorable. At the same time, there are some maps where you’d wish to well-timed bursts making her skill 3 more favorable.
The second method is to know which one is more universal. There’s no doubt that skill 2 is the clear winner on this one. Unlike skill 3, skill 2 hits flying targets as well. The consistent high average DPS makes it favorable to bring in the majority of the maps. Lastly, the flat reduction to enemy defense can be considered an excellent support for your physical damage operators.
Both methods are viable to know which skill you should be investing in.
Ifrit’s skill 2 has an average DPS of 844; before judging how low it is. Each burn trick is 33% of Ifrit’s ATK. The max defense debuff is -300, and before people think that flat reduction is terrible, It is usually the better one in the case of Arknights.
When an enemy has low average defense, -300 strips that enemy of their defense, enabling your physical DPS operators to perform at their peak.
When an enemy has too much defense, you would usually resort to using arts damage against it in the first place or have an operator with high enough damage per hit to bypass some of the defense like Skadi or SilverAsh under skill three buffs.
Ifrit’s skill 3 has an average DPS of 860, which is a pretty good number considering it’s more of a burst type of skill. When this happens, it means that the burst DPS is relatively high or the downtime of the skill is low. That is both true in the case of Ifrit’s skill 3. It has a high DPS burst of 1421, and it only has 22 seconds cooldown at M3 because of her talent.
Skill 3’s arts resistance reduction is a flat reduction which means if the tooltip says -20%, arts resistance.
Overall, Ifrit deserves her spot as one of the best 6* operators in the game. Aside from having great AOE arts and DPS that can do damage in a highly long-range, she can also support your other operators by reducing the enemy’s defense and arts resistance.
