Introduction

As you enter the vast world of Genshin Impact for the first time, you may be swamped by all of the information presented before you.

From attaining an enormous number of resources to completing the main and side quests now piling up your logs, you will have quite a bit to do in the meantime. While you are off enjoying the world, these tips may prove useful once you delve a bit deeper into the game.

Top 10 Beginner Tips For Genshin Impact

Tip 1- Ore Collection

Scattered around the map will be various types of ore chunks that will prove useful as you progress. While this ore may prove to be quite a hardship to break down and collect, using a character who wields a claymore, such as Noelle, will significantly speed up the process as claymores do extra damage to said ores.

Additionally, while you are in town, you can take advantage of the blacksmith to mark important ore veins on your map. When you talk to him, click on the “About [region]’s mining product,” and you will receive several marks on your map, denoting future mining spots.

Tip 2- Battle Pass Rewards

Upon reaching Adventure Rank 20, your character will unlock the battle pass, an additional way to earn extra resources such as mora and primogems. To earn progress on the battle pass, you will need to complete a specific battle pass quest, which you can view by shifting to the middle tab on the screen to peer at new weekly and daily missions. In most cases, these missions will align with your natural progression through the game, allowing you to knock out two birds with one stone.

Tip 3- Adventure Rank Rewards

As your Adventure Rank upgrades, you may be drawn in by the new missions you just unlocked or the new locations now available to you: leaving a potential reward to slip right under your nose. Whenever you gain an adventure rank, try to make it a priority to talk to the Adventurer’s Guild’s secretary “Katheryne,” as she will provide potentially helpful rewards.

Tip 4- Blacksmith Don’t Do’s

Looking through the blacksmith’s “wares,” you will notice that you may only have the ability to create “enhancement ore” of varying quality. While it may be tempting at first, you should generally avoid spending your ores on this enhancement ore, as you will need these materials for creating the 4-star weapons also provided by the blacksmith.

Tip 5- Shrines

When your first exploring the world, you may come across large shrines sealed with a glowing blue door with a chest trapped inside. Promptly dubbed as “shrines,” they will require a specific key to open. While it may be a while before you earn one of these keys by completing a quest or clearing a dungeon, marking them immediately via your map will help you return to them later on.

Tip 6- Early Character Level Up’s

Upon starting, most combats, while not necessarily hard, will consume a bit of time, especially when you have to fight large numbers of enemies. Like most RPGs, leveling up your characters will assist in not only winning difficult fights but quickening the rate at which you complete them. While you just getting started and upgrading all of your characters may require too many resources, it may prove fruitful you upgrade your main character as they will be the most likely to stick around, at least for the moment.

Tip 7- Artifacts

Similarly to character level up’s, leveling your artifacts will give you an additional edge in the upcoming quests. Of the different kinds of artifacts, you will likely want to invest in feathers first off.

Being primarily focused on attack power, feathers will allow your characters to swipe through the growing number of enemies quickly. Additionally, while you traverse the artifacts tabs, note the different set bonus’s that you may acquire through specific types of artifacts. Usually providing a small benefit, it may prove worthwhile to equip these set bonuses on any of your characters.

Tip 8- Talents

While each character has different abilities, attack patterns, and styles, each character (except for the main character) also has a special talent that works as a passive (which can be checked under the talents tab). While some may be similar to Amber’s stamina consumption reduction, others have talents that generate more materials through crafting potions or food. While it won’t kill you to memorize their talents, giving a slight amount of attention may prove useful in earning more of your materials.

Tip 9- Statues

Scattered around the world are statues dedicated to the Archon lands, which will be the primary feature moving forward in the game. While being around them will heal your party, it may be more worthwhile to upgrade these statues. Around the world are small orbs primarily known as “oculus” (in Mondstadt, they are explicitly called called “Anemoculus”). Their primary use will be to exchange at these shrines for rewards such as primogems, Adventure Rank experience, and an increase to your maximum stamina.

Tip 10- Resin

As you progress through the game, you will unlock the ability to fight powerful bosses and clear through newly unlocked dungeons. In most cases, you will need to spend a defined amount of “Resin” to claim the rewards.

While it has a maximum amount tied to it, your Resin will recharge slowly while you play or offline. To get the most out of your playtime, it would prove fruitful to manage how you initially expend your Resin. While spending some on a nearby boss, try to keep some clear nearby dungeons and claim their potential rewards.
