Genshin Impact: How To Solo Oceanid

Oceanid Solo Guide

One of the more intriguing aspects of the new game Genshin Impact is that it provides its players with challenging yet equally rewarding dungeon/boss fights.

An example of this is the Oceanid fight. With a combination of mechanics fighting and awareness for the map, many players consider this boss one of the difficult ones.

The only catch here is that you don’t actually “fight” the boss; instead, you will be fighting the creatures that the boss is summoning.

Party Composition

  • It is required that you bring at least one healer and one ranged character for this fight. Ambers E is pretty good for this as it baits all the monsters.
  • The boss summons bird elementals, which can prove difficult for melee characters, which is why a powerful ranged one is needed.
  • A healer should also be there in case your characters take up too much damage from the fights.
  • The final two slots can be reserved for your characters with Cryo and Electro elements. Getting these two elements on an enemy will give them the superconduct status, which effectively lessens their defense, allowing you to lay the damage into them further.

Oceanid Fight

Instead of directly fighting the Oceanid, Rhodeia of Loch will summon multiple water like creatures to fight in her steed.

Only after defeating these monsters will Oceanid receive damage. Another key challenge is that as the fight progresses, the platforms will disappear slowly, so you will need to keep your positioning in mind when hitting the enemies.

Ducks

These arrive with water circles around them, which would make it a prime candidate for your electro attacks. It might be best to consider hitting them with elemental damage instead of waiting for the ticks of the electro-charged attacks. As for the enemies, they have a pretty straightforward attack, and it can be dodged easily.

Crabs

These enemies usually come in pairs and will try to circle your character while attacking.

They’re annoying enemies since they have a high change of interrupting your attacks, and since they move quite fast, it might be difficult to get them to slow down. Freeze them in place if possible; otherwise, aim for a spinning claymore attack. You can also use Lisa‘s charged move if you can.

Boars

Boars charge straight at you after they scrape the ground beneath them.

You will need to dodge and then hit them immediately after they charge.

Frogs

It’s easy to predict when the frogs will attack; you just need to wait for them to stand on their hind legs.

Once you see this, move away from its frontal cone area as they will be performing a slam attack, which can heavily damage your characters. Similar to the other enemies, dodge when he starts doing this animation and keep attacking afterward.

Birds

Probably the most annoying of the group, these fly all over the map and dive you at random for damage and interrupts.

It’s hard to pin their actions down as each bird’s attack pattern is unique, and there is no specific pattern for you to follow. Damaging them can be quite difficult for heavy melee fighters, which is why you must bring with you a good ranged DPS. Otherwise, you will need good timing to dodge and hit them when they dive down.

Just rinse and repeat in killing these monsters, and after a few rounds, the boss will be defeated eventually. You will then be rewarded with various items as well as ascension requirements for your characters.
