Gacha System
In Genshin Impact, there is a gacha system when it comes to how you get new characters and how you get weapons. At the start of this game, for the launch, players who pre-registered got 20 Acquaint Fates while all players are given 1,600 Primogems.

You get some Primogems once you get to Adventure Rank 7, the 10 Acquaint Fates from Adventure Rank 1, and the other 10 Acquaint Fates once you have reached Adventure Rank 10. These resources that you have, you should spend them wisely.
Acquaint Fates and Intertwined Fates
In this game, there are two types of gacha currencies: Acquaint Fates and Intertwined Fates. You may use these currencies to purchase new weapons and get new characters.
You use the Acquaint Fates for the beginner and the standard banners, while the Intertwined Fates are used on the limited promotional banners for weapons and characters.
How To Get Fates
If you are willing to pay in the game, there are several promos that you may pay for to get these Fates. However, if you are playing free to play or F2P, these resources may be challenging to obtain.
You can also get Genesis Crystals, the paid currencies that you may transform into Primogems to purchase these Acquaint or Intertwined Fates. Each Fate costs 160 Primogems. You may also obtain these Fates as you play the game. There are various ways that you can be rewarded with them in Genshin Impact.
Wish
When you wish for characters or weapons, you may get the following: ★3-star weapons, ★4-star weapons, ★5-star weapons, ★4-star characters, or ★5-star characters. Of course, the ones that you may want to get are the five-star weapons and five-star characters, but four-star weapons and characters are great as well.
The rate that you can get a ★3-star weapon in Genshin Impact is 94.3%. ★4-star weapon or character is only 5.1% leaving the rate for obtaining a ★5-star weapon or a ★5-star character at only 0.6%.

Pity System
There is a safeguard in the gacha system called the pity system. It is in place to guarantee an item of a certain rarity once you have achieved a specific amount of pulls. This depends on the kind of banner that you’ll pull on.

★4-Star Pity
The ★4-star Pity gives you a guaranteed ★4-star item for each 10th wish you make if you have not pulled one.
If the banner that you are pulling from has a features ★4-star character, When you try to pull, at first, you will have a 50% chance of obtaining a ★4-star character.
However, if you still have not pulled a featured character(you got someone something else ★4), you have a 100% chance of pulling a ★4 star featured character on your second try. After you have successfully summoned a featured character, this pity system resets.
★5-Star Pity
On the other hand, for the ★5-star Pity, you have a guaranteed ★5-star item pull for the 90th wish that you will get. If there is a promotional ★5-star character or weapon on the banner you are pulling from, you get a 50% chance that your first pull will be a promotional character.
If you did not obtain it on your first pull, you would have a 100% chance that the next ★5 pull will be the promotional item. Just like in the ★4-star Pity, this also resets after the successful pull.
Which Banner Should I Pick?
There are different banner types wherein they also differ from time to time. There are times The beginner banner has a higher guarantee, but it only gives you a maximum of 20 wishes.
You should pull on the beginner banner as you start in the game as it could give you great characters while other banners give you more chance of pulling a weapon than a character.
Remember that there are banners that are a mixture of characters and weapons, which give you more chance of pulling a ★five-star weapon than a five-star character. This also may be the same for ★four-star characters and ★four-star weapons.
There are also limited promotional banners that use intertwined fates rather than acquaint fates. These feature characters give you a higher chance of getting the characters included in the banner.
There is also the limited weapons banner in which gives you a higher chance to get certain weapons. These banners also present you with special weapons that you may not obtain anywhere else.
F2P Wish Strategy For Genshin Impact(Rerolling or New Player)
Beginner Wish
When starting out chose the beginner banner with your acquaint fates as you will get a guaranteed Noelle. Complete all the wishes you can on this banner x20.
It also gives you the highest chance of ★4 pulls. Use the rest of your acquaint fates on the standard banner.
What To Do With Primogems
- You should use your primogems to purchase intertwined fates.
- Your goal should be the featured ★4 characters on the limited promotional banners. It isn’t easy to max out the constellation of ★5 characters, but for ★4 characters, it is more comfortable.
- Do not get more than 3x Resin restorations. If you are willing to spend a little bit on the game, aim to have pity rolls on limited promotional banners for ★5 characters.
Aim to max out your four-star characters’ constellation, and you may use resin restoration as you wish.
