Today we’ll be going through the Azur Lane Carriers.

Tier 0

Enterprise

She is the poster girl of the game, and as you expect from the poster girl, she is outstanding.

She’s been there since the beginning of the game, and so far, she has never been out of Tier 0, and it’s because she’s got her signature skill that’s called Lucky E.

Lucky E does double the damage on a pretty high chance of activating, and it eliminates the enemies who do double the damage.

When her skill activates, she evades everything. Nothing can hit her, and she can not die, so she’s been useful since the beginning of the game.

She is also a great ship, so if you are new to the game, I would highly recommend you to try and get her from the Gacha because she would make your life so much easier, and you would progress so much faster with her.

Essex

She loves Enterprise, and she’s super cute. She gives a massive eagle union buffs.

If you put her and Enterprise together with any other American back liner, they will have so many buffs and could do incredible amounts of damage.

She reduces damage to one sometimes, which means that your ships take no damage and increase aviation.

She gives extra anti-air so that you can deal with planes which are good.

She gives increased damage to battleships, and she has an extra wave of airplanes that dual flooding damage, which does even more damage than burns, so that is incredible.

But the problem is, you can only get her in a past event, so if you don’t have her by now, you’ll have to wait until the rerun where they introduce her again.

Centaur

She does very similar things to Essex, and she does the same increased damage to battleships. Still, this time her torpedoes go in a diagonal pattern, which means that she actually can cover more ground and hit almost the entire screen with all her torpedo bombers.

On top of that, instead of dealing with extra flooding damage, she decreases speed so that you can deal with those fast-moving ships again, which is very useful.

The last thing that is insanely amazing is her yellow skill which increases aviation and firepower. The entire backline will deal more damage. It’s a global buff for the backlines, so they will do more damage, which is a fantastic skill.

The best thing is that you can get her anytime now because they added her to the permanent build pool, so when you’re building your carriers, you can either get Enterprise or Centaur, and they are both great ships that will help you with your battles.

Formidable

Her signature skill is to stop time, and it is perfect because when your enemies don’t move at all, that’s better than a slight speed debuff because they don’t move, and you can walk up to them, torpedo them, and they die to your advantage.

Stopping time is very overpowered, and she can do exactly that. She also launches an extra airstrike of Fairey Albacore that inflicts flooding, which is fantastic because it deals so much more damage.

On top of that, she decreases damage taken for the backline.

Saratoga Retrofit

I honestly don’t think that she’s able to compete with all the others in Tier 0, and I think she was just put here because they added a new section called “Supports.””

She does some flooding, and she shoots a barrage of artillery.

Pretty solid backline, and she increases vanguard fleets after damage or after an airstrike.

Tier 1

Shangri-la

Unfortunately, she is not on the English server, so I’m not going to be covering her.

Tokino Sora

She is a very solid hololive idol, and she is also an excellent hololive ship.

She increases her accuracy, which doesn’t matter too much. Still, there’s a small speed decrease of enemies, which also doesn’t matter too much because the speed decrease is small, and there’s a very mediocre wave of bombers that deal burn damage, which is not as good as flooding.

Overall, she’s pretty solid. She does a lot of stuff but doesn’t do stuff as well as everybody else.

Ark Royal

She is more utility-focused for her slow ability.

She can slow down enemy ships quite a lot, and she’s very useful for all those maps where maybe either you don’t have Centaur or Formidable in your fleet, and you need someone to slow down those ships.

Tier 2

Shoukaku and Zuikaku

They are the second carrier division in World War two, and they buff each other.

The thing is, their buffs are also a debuff. When they are together, Shoukaku takes more damage which is bad because why would you want a buff that ends up hurting you more. But Zuikaku, on the other hand, gets a massive damage buff and her airstrike only gets good on her second or third because she gets ramped up damage every single time she does an airstrike.

Overall, this pair is probably not that good. There’s a much better pair.

Hiryuu and Souryuu

They are probably the worst pair out of all three because they don’t do anything special.

The only notable thing is Hiryuu because, after her retrofit, she is terrific in PVP but is only shining in PVP. Because she gets the skill where she becomes immortal after taking fatal damage and can launch an extra airstrike which can mean the winning side or the losing side, so that’s the best part about Hiryuu.

Souryuu is not anything too good.

Akagi and Kaga

They are amazing, but you need to get them from three-four and only three-four, so you need to grind that stage.

They have the fastest airstrikes in the game, and when their skills once maxed out, lower each first airstrike of each person by 25%.

Tier 3 and 4

Most of them do the same stuff as other ships.
Taihou has many massive bombs that don’t work out for her that well, but she’s pretty solid.
Bunker Hill got an extra wave of airplanes.

Who you like the best is the most important deciding factor in this game so go after the person you think is the best.
