My criteria
- is it great by itself?
- does it fit in a lot of competitive comps?
- proven to be good or just good in theory?
Defining the Tier:
S – this weapon is on the tier of its own. It fits in every comp and it does everything well.
A – this weapon is META right now. It is pretty darn great, but possibly a flavor of the month.
B – this weapon fits in some comps.
C – not the greatest
D – you are trolling.
F – you are actually trolling.
———————————————————————————————
Blue Text means it got placed higher since last time.
Red Text means it got placed lower since last time.
Green Text means, the tier remains the same, but the playstyle has changed.
S tier
A tier
Bearpaw – It has the chop, it has sick base damage, and it has the BIG CLAP. Bearpaw lets you fly in and decimate enemy backline with it’s high flat damage and true damage dot. The chop(Deadly Chop) has insane damage and it shreds resistances. Since it’s a relic weapon, it has naturally high base damage and even its auto attack hurts like hell. However, it’s E ability is deceivingly hard to use and it can get cancelled quite easily. It’s a great weapon overall and it’s unaffected by the new capes. With introduction to the “new” soldier armor build, this weapon is offering a lot more pressure than before. Because, everyone and their mother runs axes in their comp, it is easy to stack Fury and fully stacked E hurts like a motherfucker. However, it does take away the massive self healing and it is infinitely weaker vs. team comp that runs purge(or purges).
Halberd – Welcome to Halberd Online, where Halberd is good at everything. This weapon is
stupidly easy to play and it does so much damage. Although its lack of utility hurts Halberd vs certain comps, it still holds it’s spot as a chad melee dps.
B tier
Bloodletter – This is the most hyped up weapon in the game and it’s pretty awful just on it’s own. However, there’s just so much burst potential in current meta and Bloodletter can be used as a major combo piece as an execute. It’s not the best weapon ever, but in certain situations it does the job better than Bearpaw and Trinity Spear. Just don’t end up on someone’ highlight reel.
Trinity Spear– Meta Capes are GAY. Trinity Spear is a great combo piece in the top team compositions. It does so much damage on it’s own and when the combo lands, it’s almost a guarantee kill. It does have it’s counters, but not a lot of teams are exploiting it’s weakness that well. I want to give this an S tier spot, but with the introduction to the new capes, it’s kill potential got a bit lower; however, it’s still a great weapon and no one can deny it.
z
Glaive – It has the best auto attack in the game and it’s E can isolate the enemy for a kill. Although it has all the tools to be a great weapon, when compared to Trinity, it just can’t compare. I am not trying to lowball Glaive, but ya gotta weigh the weights ya know what i’m sayin’.
Carrioncaller – Carrioncaller is a solid choice if a team comp requires a healing debuff. Axes are naturally strong and Carrioncaller is no exception. I am placing this a bit higher, because I see more comps running this weapon now and the recent successes in GvG proves that more axe players are adapting to its play style. Like I said before, just on it’s healing reduction and pressure, it’s A tier.
C tier
Spear(1h spear) – This weapon was an S tier few patches ago, but it got gutted down to C tier. Let me just say, it did just as much damage as Bloodletter E(below 40%) and it’s travel distance was on par with Bearpaw. Now it does mediocre damage and it travels mediocre distance… but honestly, it’s not terrible. It still does good reliable damage and it still got it’s knock up… Also, Spear just has really solid movesets and it will always be good(just not as good).
D tier
Deathgivers – It has the potential to KO one person and what people don’t realize is that auto attack hits like a truck with this weapon. One of the major issue is that you are squishy as hell and firewall is your worst nightmare. Just use Bloodletter.
Galatine and Clarent Blade – The most hyped up weapon v2.0 and it’s younger brother. Clarent Blade is definitely a worse choice if you are just looking at the damage, but E has no delay and the ability to use an offhand is a big plus. Let’s face it, swords suck. Q stacking mechanic is AIDS and spear is a natural predator. Because of it’s meme clap potential, they may be the last of their dying breed. Some people really love this weapon and they try to make swords work, but it just gets outclassed by everything that’s out right now. Swords are even worse than, because there’s so many Purge in current meta. Sorry swordbros.
F tier
Infernal Scythe – Halberd’s private school educated cousin. It’s basically an expensive Halberd with higher damage and longer cooldown. It was glitched for the longest fucking time, but SBI finally fixed it. After looking at this weapon in action, it just doesn’t seem that threatening. The delay on its E is predictable and I just didn’t feel a lot of pressure.
Broadsword – tanky boi. No place in the meta.
Dual Sword – Sword Art Online roleplayer.
Claymore – They may take our sets, but they’ll never take our freedom.
Carving Sword – human cursed staff LUL
Battleaxe – nowhere relevant self healing.
Greataxe -If something touches you, you do 0 damage. Knight Helmet anyone?
Heron Spear – long CD
Pike – Fatty damage and slow attack speed.
Spirithunter – Tent.
Dagger – purged
Dagger Pair– Duel for money
Claws – No cape, T4 Claws only, Darkroot Hollow
Black Hands – 2v2 gates
