A Guide to Gundam Battle Gunpla Warfare’s F2P Parts

So this guide is intended for newer players, or not necessarily new but more casual, F2P players. Players who may have farmed up event parts and don’t know which ones are worth investing in, or who have just started and are wondering what to focus on.

Let’s begin with the absolute basics: The Artemis.

written by: reddit.com/u/Scubasage

The Artemis Gundam is a gunpla that is given to you in the Story Mode. All players receive one, and it is a very good mobile suit since it got buffed recently. If you are a brand new player and have absolutely none of the event parts, keep this mobile suit and work on upgrading it. It is on par with natural 4* suits from the capsules. It leans more towards Melee, and doesn’t particularly excel in any area, but it’s serviceable and solid and will get you through a lot of the game.

In case you have sold your Artemis, or used the parts as upgrade fodder, don’t worry, you can get them again through two methods. Method one is the Friend Points Capsules. Artemis parts have a chance of showing up every time you make a pull on that Capsule. Method two is the Capital shop. The parts can show up for sale there.

If you kept your Artemis, good! You can still use the two methods above to get more Artemis pieces to upgrade the EX Skills or Traits of the parts, making them stronger or increasing their effects.

So with that out of the way, I’m going to go ahead and discuss a few different mobile suits, in each slot they have something available, one by one. The suits are all of the F2P suits that have been released so far. These suits are not available in any of the standard or pick up capsules, but can be obtained without using Haro Coins on capsule pulls. Of them, the Artemis and Code Phi are always available, the Mobile SUMO is available until the end of September, and the rest are event suits.

A few disclaimers before we get into the nitty gritty: I will be comparing and discussing stats as if all the pieces were maxed out. However, I won’t necessarily recommend all of them to be brought up to 5* regardless of that fact, because currently the awakening circuits we need are still severely limited. Likewise, lots of these pieces are good by virtue of their word tags, but you only need 5 pieces with the tag to activate said tag. Any extra pieces with the tag will not contribute. So if you have, for example, [Ace Exclusive] already active and are choosing between an Artemis piece and another that is weaker but has [Ace Exclusive], the Artemis will be better because the tag is already active, so the Artemis will also benefit from it. So rather than just taking what I list as the “best for Melee/shot ATK” in each category, slapping them together and calling it a day, consider how the word tags are set up and which pieces can be swapped to higher base stat pieces. Next, this link by u/StrawberryClorox has all the stats for all the parts available right now, which makes it very useful for cross referencing:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1INm7AqkLCEf_YeMU5SDI1-8ZgJztFwUrOOsrdyRpXYA/edit#gid=0

Parts will be color coded based on whether they should be brought up to gold, pink or left at blue. The parts might be colored multiple colors, this indicates that depending on how you plan to use the piece, whether it’s worth upgrading and how much to upgrade may change. Some parts may be listed as “Legacy” parts. That means that they are no longer available in-game at the moment. They remain in the guide for players who may have obtained them then took a break from the game, and came back at a later date.

Finally, a note specifically about the Code Phi, F91 and Buster: These suits are farmable. Code Phi from Free Mission Hard Modes, and F91 and Buster from the new Capsule Medal banner, where the Capsule Medals are farmable from the weekly event. The drop rate on the Code Phi is very low, and while the Capsule Medals aren’t that hard to get, the rates to pull the F91 and Buster parts are very low as well. So be prepared for a grind if you go for these parts.

Head:

Artemis:

This head is fairly solid overall. The stats are good, mainly for a Shot ATK gunpla, but it works well enough for a Melee ATK gunpla too. The EX Skill isn’t particularly good, but as with basically every EX Skill, if you have nothing else, use it. It also comes with the [Protag] and [High Firepower] word tags, which are very good offensive tags in general.

Worth investing into? Yes, it’s 1 point behind an eight way tie for third place for Melee ATK heads, being 383, and the other eight heads being 384. Meanwhile, on the Shot ATK side of things, it sits firmly right in the middle of all 4* parts, which is good enough. Like most parts of the Artemis, it’s worth upgrading to 5* if you don’t have anything better to upgrade first. I would not go out of your way to get duplicates of this to level the EX Skill, however.

Code Phi:

Another solid head, with well rounded stats. On the one hand, it is just barely above the eight way tied mentioned previously, on the other hand, it has lower Shot ATK. It has the same EX Skill as the Artemis, which is to say it’s a filler skill. However, this head is better for Shot ATK suits than the Artemis head because of the [Ace Exclusive] word tag.

Worth investing into? Yes. For a Melee ATK suit, the Artemis is generally better, but for a Shot ATK suit, this is better than the Artemis if you can have the [Ace Exclusive] word tag active. Like with the Artemis, I would not go out of your way to get duplicates.

Mobile SUMO:

This head is, well, quite average for a 3* part in terms of raw stats. Nothing stands out except for the EX Skill, which is very good for a Melee ATK based suit, and the word tags, which include the very nice [Ace Exclusive] tag for Shot ATK based suits. It also does have a slightly above average Shot ATK for a 3* suit.

Worth investing into? Surprisingly, yes! While it is slightly lower on the Melee ATK side of things compared to most 4* heads, at 292, the EX Skill giving a 39% boost for the rest of the fight makes up for the lower base ATK. It’s basically a F2P version of the X Divider head, which is the best Melee ATK head in the game, assuming you can spare the EX Skill slot for the boost. Looking at it from the Shot ATK side of things, having the [Ace Exclusive] tag makes up for the lower base Shot ATK compared to most 4* suits. It can even surpass the Quebeley head, if every other part of your suit is enough to activate the tag while also giving 7350 or more Shot ATK. That’s a tall order though, so in general I’d place it above most 4* heads, including the Artemis, if you can have the [Ace Exclusive] tag active, and below most 4* heads if you can’t. For Melee ATK, I would definitely bring this up to 5* once you’ve upgraded your arms and weapon, and try to get duplicates to at least level this up a few times to make the duration longer than the CD. For Shot ATK, I would bring this up to 4* if your suit can make use of the [Ace Exclusive] tag. I don’t think I would bring this up to 5* unless you have very good parts in the other slots to try and reach 7K Shot ATK without this head.

Rising Gundam: Legacy

This is essentially just a slightly weaker version of the Artemis head. It has more Melee defenses, while less Ranged defenses, and slightly lower ATK and worse word tags. Overall it’s a net decrease in defense though. It even has the exact same EX Skill, just under a different name.

Worth investing into? No, this is a part that can be freely sold off.

Blitz Gundam: Legacy

This is a support head through and through. It boasts above average defenses, set up like the Artemis but tankier, while having average Melee ATK for a 3* and very poor Shot ATK. The EX skill is the notable thing on it, healing an Ally for 38%. It also has the [High Mobility] word tag, that helps defend against ranged attacks, which is nice for a support suit.

Worth investing into? Maybe for 3v3 arena when that comes out, and you want a recovery skill on the team but don’t have one of the better parts with those skills. Otherwise, I would give this a pass.

Gerbera Tetra: Legacy

Here we have something fairly interesting. The trait is very, very strong, with a straight up 25% increase to Shot ATK, but only while the enemy has the [Gundam Type] word tag active. The Gerbera boasts average 3* Shot ATK and Melee ATK, average defenses, but the very nice [Ace Exclusive] word tag. It also has the [Zeon] tag, which while hard to activate, is a very nice boost to defense against Melee.

Worth investing into? I would say no right now. It has nothing going for it for Melee ATK suits, and for Shot ATK suits, it’s a worse version of the SUMO…except vs [Gundam Type] enemies, where it becomes a very, very strong head piece. So mainly an Arena piece, since I’ve never seen a story/event mission suit have any word tags, and only if the [Gundam Type] tag becomes meta. Unfortunately, I don’t see that tag becoming meta anytime soon, as Arena greatly rewards glass cannon style overkills and [Gundam Type] is a purely defensive tag. That being said, this is something to keep on the backburner for a while to slowly invest into when you have nothing better to spend resources on, for the day that [Gundam Type] does become meta and then you can blow everyone away.

Tallgeese II: Legacy

This head is very, very similar to the SUMO head. It trades a lower Shot ATK for higher defenses, the [Ace Exclusive] word tag for two rarer, smaller word tags that would equal the previous tag, and gains the ability to boost both Melee and Shot ATK with its EX Skill.

Worth investing into? Absolutely! The big draw is the EX Skill. However, for Melee Suits, I would prefer the SUMO. The two are basically identical for Melee, with the Tallgeese having very slightly higher defenses, but the SUMO having a much longer runtime on the skill. SUMO’s skill is a 33 second CD with a 51 second runtime. Tallgeese is a 33 second CD with a 37 second runtime. Both can run indefinitely, but with the SUMO you can spend time dodging for longer between using the skill to keep the buff going. In addition, the SUMO has the [Heavy Armor] tag, which, while rare, will put it higher defensively than the Tallgeese. Shot ATK is a different story, and here I would definitely bring this up to 5* unless you have the Dynames head. Using the same comparison with the Quebeley head from earlier, we see that the SUMO needs the word tag active and 7350 or more Shot ATK to be better than the Quebeley head. Well, the Tallgeese is significantly easier. You just need 1447 Shot ATK or higher across all your other parts to be better than the Quebeley, and most good weapons on their own will give that. This head is basically the second best head that exists for Shot ATK mobile suits, only beaten out by the Dynames head, which is just a better version of this head in basically every category. Still, the Dynames is gacha exclusive, while this one is farmable. Definitely farm duplicates to max out this EX skill.

Hyaku Shiki: Legacy

This has decent Shot ATK, some okay defenses, mediocre word tags and a filler EX Skill.

Worth investing into? No, not really.

Gundam Gusion: Legacy

This has high armor, okay defenses and abysmal ATK stats, alongside bad word skills and a filler EX Skill. Skip this one.

Worth investing into? No, absolutely not.

Sword Strike Gundam: Legacy

This head has identical stats to the Mobile SUMO head, but the EX Skill is different, as are the word tags, which are [High Firepower] and [Close Combat], both of which are good tags to have. The EX Skill is, like the Rising Backpack, a Debuff skill, and while we have since learned that it apparently applies to every enemy you fight during the duration, we still don’t know the damage formula and so can’t say if reducing resistance/defense is better than boosting your own stats. For now, I’m leaving this blank, like the Rising. I will say that this debuff is a little weaker in general than the Rising, since it only affects Physical RES compared to Melee and Shot DEF. If both your melee and ranged weapons are Physical then it’s effectively identical, but Rising works with Beam weapons too.

Worth investing into? If you want to experiment with a debuff skill or if Debuff skills become better than Buff skills, then yes. Grab this piece and duplicates, hang onto it for a while, and see where it goes.

Stargazer Gundam: Legacy

Low Melee ATK, low Shot ATK, bad word tags and a mediocre trait.

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Strike Rouge IWSP:

Low ATK stats, bad word tags, and the typical Vulcan EX Skill. Pass.

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Delta Plus: Legacy

Typical Vulcan EX Skill, bad word tags, stupidly low Shot ATK. Hard, hard pass.

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Gundam TR-1: Legacy

Stupidly low Shot ATK, a trait meant to boost Shot ATK but is low impact, average defenses and [Long-Range].

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Gundam F91: Legacy

This head has average stats for a 4*, [Protag] and most importantly a great Awakening EX Skill, boosting speed by 20%, Melee ATK by 19% and Shot ATK by 29%. This is a great alternative to the SUMO or Tallgeese II heads, if you don’t have access to either.

Worth investing into? If you do not have the SUMO head or the Tallgeese II head, this is the next best head available for F2P suits. Duplicates are needed.

Buster Gundam: Legacy

Good Shot ATK for a 3*, [Long-Range], and an amazing part trait to boost Shooting Power by 25% when using a Power Attribute suit. If you can activate the trait and word tag, this part will be better than the F91 head. It’s still weaker than the Tallgeese II head, but it is still very good and worth trying to get a P Attribute if you pull this head.

Worth investing into? For Shot ATK suits without the Tallgeese II head, yes. Melee ATK suits can skip this.

Rozen Zulu: Legacy

Bad stats all around, a trait that is good on the surface but bad in practice and restricted to the worst Job License in the game, and [Ace Exclusive]. Sadly, even with the 24% boost to Shot ATK from the trait and [Ace Exclusive], the stupidly low Shot ATK of this head ruins any chance it had.

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Gundam Age Normal: Legacy

Average Melee ATK, low Shot ATK, [Mid-Range] and most importantly, Combat Stance. This is an alternative to the Mobile SUMO head, for the people who hated the look of the SUMO.

Worth investing into? Yes, absolutely, with duplicates, for a melee suit.

Gundam Heavyarms:

Average ATK stats, [High-Firepower] and a decent trait of boosting Beam Ranged Weapon Magazine, meaning you can fire more shots before running out of energy. This is a solid middle of the road part.

Worth investing into? This is better than most other event Shot ATK heads but worse than the Artemis. I would pass on this.

Best head for Melee ATK:

Mobile SUMO/Gundam Age Normal

Best head for Shot ATK:

Tallgeese II

Torso:

Artemis:

This torso is fairly solid overall. The stats are average for a 4* part, with no inclination either towards Melee or Shot. It has the same tags as the head, meaning it leans slightly more towards Melee thanks to [Protag]. The EX Skill is just like the head’s skill, being one you use if you have nothing else.

Worth investing into? Just like the head, the answer is yes. It’s a solid piece that can be used for a variety of purposes, though I wouldn’t bring it up to 5* if you have something more impactful to upgrade first. I would not go out of your way to get duplicates.

Code Phi:

This torso is similar to the Artemis, only much more skewed towards Melee. It has the highest base Melee ATK stat of all torsos in the game at 800, just 1 point higher than the Barbatos at 799, and its defenses are geared more towards protecting against ranged attacks, to allow it to close the gap more safely. The interesting point is the EX skill, which while doing very little damage, gives a smaller Melee buff to your squad of 19% and a defensive buff of 29%. While this seems very good because of how it boosts three different stats, two of those stats are defense stats, and the game does not reward defensive play right now, meaning the main draw is the Melee buff, which is on the weaker side for buffs. For Shot ATK suits, it comes with the [Ace Exclusive] word tag and average Shot ATK, which is the most that can be said for it.

Worth investing into? Yes, if you plan to use a Melee suit. I would max this out, as the only chest pieces that would be better would be the Gundam and Zeta Gundam chest pieces, making this the third strongest Melee Chest in the game, even if you do not use the EX Skill at all. Shot ATK suits should pass on this one, unless you really have nothing better and need a piece to finish your [Ace Exclusive] tag. This is one that I would suggest farming duplicates for.

Mobile SUMO:

This is an almost perfectly balanced torso piece, skewing very slightly to favor defense against physical weapons over beam weapons. It’s similar to the Artemis, except it trades some defense for ATK, which is a worthwhile trade in my book. It comes with the same tags as the head, making it slightly better for Shot ATK suits thanks to [Ace Exclusive]. The trait, while nothing standout, is a nice little bit of RNG that could go in your favor sometimes.

Worth investing into? Like the Artemis torso, yes, being solid for many purposes, though I wouldn’t bring it up to 5* if you have something better to bring up first. You can skip getting duplicates, though they do help if you want to get them.

Rising Gundam: Legacy

This torso isn’t bad for Melee suits, though Shot ATK suits will find it mediocre overall. It sports average ATK stats for a 3* and some defenses skewed very heavily towards Melee. The big draw here is the trait giving Strong Melee Attacks a 20% boost. While a nice trait, it unfortunately isn’t good if you don’t use Strong Melee Attacks, and isn’t as good as the Code Phi, Gundam or Zeta Gundam suits that just boost all your Melee attacks and not only the Strong ones.

Worth investing into? If you do not have anything better in the torso slot for a Melee suit, bring it to 4* but no further. Depending on how often you use Strong Melee Attacks it could be better than the Artemis and SUMO, but could also be worse. You kinda need the duplicates on these.

Blitz Gundam: Legacy

This torso is very strange. It sports the average Melee ATK we see on regular 3* suits, but has 0 Shot ATK. It boasts fairly high defenses for a 3* suit and favors beams over physical. The draw on this one is the EX Skill. Firstly, it is an Awakening Skill and not a Buff skill, so it stacks with things like say, the Tallgeese II head. Next, it makes you harder to target, which is sort of like a defense buff if you keep moving. Third, it boosts Shot ATK by 19%, which makes up for the 0 stat. Finally, it lasts 51 seconds and has a CD of 60 seconds, meaning once you activate it, you’ll only have 9 seconds of downtime between uses.

Worth investing into? I would give this a pass for Melee suits. This piece fits onto a support suit that wants to use the Blitz head or a similar part, and if you want to make that kind of Gunpla, then I could see investing into this. For Shot ATK suits, this one is pretty rough, being beaten out by the Nu, Aile Strike, Dynames, Rose Gundam and Dragon Gundam parts, in no particular order. It obviously loses out to most everything if you cannot afford the EX Skill slot, or if you have a better Awakening skill on a different piece you want to us. Still, it’s better than the other four suits we’ve looked at for Shot ATK if you can make use of the skill, so I’m going to give this a cautious yes. If you do invest in it, you’ll need duplicates to max out the skill.

Gerbera Tetra: Legacy

This torso is literally the SUMO torso except it trades some Melee ATK for some Armor, and trades the [Heavy Armor] word tag for the [Zeon] word tag. The main difference is the trait, which is once again only active vs [Gundam Type] enemies. This trait boosts the damage output of all your EX Skills by 20. Not 20%, it literally adds 20 to whatever the EX skill damage would be. This is terrible for skills like Last Shooting or Bisect, where it’s one giant hit, but much better on skills like CIWS or Vulcan skills or even Bits and Funnels, that hit multiple times per use. However, the output of those skills, even after the boost, is still very low, making this torso a basically worse version of the SUMO.

Worth investing into? No, unless you do not have the Artemis or the SUMO, in which case this is passable for a Shot ATK suit. Melee ATK suits should probably avoid this one. Definitely don’t upgrade past 4* on this one if you do decide to use it. You can skip duplicates on this one.

Tallgeese II: Legacy

This torso is like the Artemis, perfectly balanced, though it is basically weaker all around. It can be slightly better for Shot ATK suits because of the word tags, though they are rarer tags. The trait is anti [For Space], boosting your EX Skills’ Piercing by 22%, which is a rather large buff. Unfortunately, Piercing is a weak stat at the moment, since defenses are not high enough and the game doesn’t reward defensive play enough to make it worthwhile over pure damage. This trait also shares the problem of the Gerbera Tetra traits, in that like [Gundam Type], [For Space] is not particularly good and won’t be seeing much use. The only saving grace is that the Nu parts mostly all have [For Space] so it might come up against someone using a Nu Gundam.

Worth investing into? No, this is honestly even worse than the Gerbera Tetra torso and that one already was a “well if you sold your Artemis and don’t want to spend 8 coins on a SUMO torso…” You can safely sell this one.

Hyaku Shiki: Legacy

This torso has average stats, mediocre word tags, and a very interesting trait that unfortunately doesn’t do enough to save this piece. The trait only works against [Ace Exclusive] enemies, which is a great meta trait condition to have since that is one of the most common tags in PVP. Unfotunately it’s a Shot ATK tag, and the trait reduces melee damage taken…

Worth investing into? No, you can sell this one off.

Gundam Gusion: Legacy

High armor, average defenses, low ATK stats. Bad word tags and a mediocre filler EX Skill.

Worth investing into? No, sell this.

Sword Strike Gundam: Legacy

This piece is, like the head, another Mobile SUMO clone, with different word tags and a different EX Trait. The word tags match the head, just like the SUMO’s parts do. The EX Trait is an interesting one. It reduces Strong Melee Attack damage done by “large” enemies. Obviously the giant enemies in the upcoming co-op mode would count, but the 1/100 and 1/60 scale enemies in the Free Missions might count as well, testing would need to be done. Likewise, we’d have to see how many actually utilize Strong Melee Attacks.

Worth investing into? Yes, with duplicates if you plan to play the co-op mode a lot. This chest has the same very high stats as the SUMO chest, and has good word tags for melee suits. In fact, the word tags, either one, would be enough to push this to being better than the Code Phi chest if you aren’t using the EX Skill on it.

Stargazer Gundam: Legacy

Okay defenses, garbage ATK stats, bad word tags, a good part trait.

Worth investing into? Only if you plan to make a pure support Gunpla, but even then this Torso is bad.

Strike Rouge IWSP:

Average ATK stats, high defenses, bad word tags and a bad trait.

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Delta Plus: Legacy

Good Melee ATK, average Shot ATK, bad word tags, and a bad trait. Basically a worse version of the Sword Strike Torso.

Worth investing into? It’s an okay Melee Torso, but most Torsos should surpass it with word tags. Duplicates aren’t needed, as the trait is very weak.

Gundam TR-1: Legacy

Average ATK, very high Armor, average defenses, a filler EX Skill and [Long-Range].

Worth investing into? Not really. Pass.

Gundam F91: Legacy

Average ATK for a 4*, high DEF, [Protag] and [Mid-range] and a mediocre trait. This is basically the Artemis Torso but slightly worse. Artemis’s [High Firepower] tag works with either Melee ATK or Shot ATK, while [Mid-Range] is Shot ATK only. Otherwise, the F91 is a slight sidegrade, losing some Phys RES to gain some Beam RES.

Worth investing into? Not really, as everyone should already have the Artemis.

Buster Gundam: Legacy

Average ATK stats, slightly high DEF, [Long-Range] and an EX Skill that will be good for 3v3 Arena, or on your Ally suits.

Worth investing into? More for an Ally to run in 3v3 to boost you without taking up an EX Skill slot on your main, but yes. Duplicates would be needed.

Rozen Zulu: Legacy

Good Melee ATK, average Shot ATK, decent defenses, a bad trait, and [Ace Exclusive]. This part isn’t too bad, but much better alternatives still exist.

Worth investing into? Maybe if you don’t need the Artemis torso for Protag and don’t have the Sword Strike torso, otherwise skip this.

Gundam Age Normal: Legacy

Average stats, [Mid-Range] and a trait that boosts Strong Melee attacks when fighting a [For Computer] enemy. For Computer is a terrible word tag, so this trait is basically useless.

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Gundam Heavyarms:

Average Melee ATK, high Shot ATK, above average defenses, [High Firepower] and a filler EX skill. This is an alternative to a few other Shot ATK Torsos, like the SUMO or Gerbera Tetra, but with a different flavor of word tag.

Worth investing into? Not really, as the SUMO is still around at the time this piece is available and it has a better word tag.

Best torso for Melee ATK:

Code Phi (with EX Skill) or Sword Strike Gundam

Best torso for Shot ATK:

Blitz (with EX Skill) or Mobile SUMO

Arms:

Artemis:

So this is an interesting one. It comes with extraordinarily high defenses, because it also includes a shield. Like the previous pieces, it has the same word tags as before, [Protag] and [High Firepower] which gives it a slight tilt towards Melee ATK usage. Average Shot ATK for a 4* part, Melee ATK smack dab in the middle for a 4* part, and an EX Skill that once again, is used if you have nothing better.

Worth investing into? As usual, yes. It’s a solid, serviceable part, and in particular, it includes a shield attachment, so you don’t need to go looking for a good shield. It’s not much of a stand out otherwise, but it’ll put in work for both Melee and Shot ATK suits. Melee can upgrade to 5* pretty quickly, while Shot ATK might want to leave it at 4* for a while and upgrade higher impact pieces first. You can skip duplicates.

Code Phi:

I recently gave an analysis of this part in a post on reddit, and the conclusion I came to is that this is one of the best arm parts in the game. It is best in slot for Melee ATK, except for when the Barbatos arms can be used alongside an In-Fighter pilot. In every other scenario, the Code Phi is the absolute best Melee ATK arms, thanks to it’s high base Melee ATK, third overall, behind only the Exia and Justice, and the trait that boosts Melee ATK by 15%.

Link to the analysis here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GundamBattle/comments/cyvdgw/psa_code_phi_arms_are_essentially_best_in_slot/

Worth investing into? Absolutely yes! It’s going to be a long, hard grind to max this piece out, but it’s worth it, because unless you get both the Barbatos arms and a good In-Fighter pilot, you literally will not be replacing these arms on your Melee suit. You need duplicates for this one, but it will last you a very, very long time.

Mobile SUMO:

Here’s another piece I did an analysis on reddit for. This piece is similar to the Code Phi but for Shot ATK based suits. It has the fourth highest Shot ATK value of any arm piece in the game, behind the Wing Gundam, Sword Strike and Freedom Gundams, as well as the typical [Ace Exclusive] and [Heavy Armor] word tags. The EX skill on this piece is another one that you use if you have nothing else, otherwise do not bother.

Link to analysis here:

Worth investing into? Absolutely yes! If you are using Shot ATK, you want to max this piece out, it will do well for you for a long time. No need for duplicates here either.

Rising Gundam: Legacy

These arms are fairly solid for a Melee ATK suit, but are worse than the Artemis and the Code Phi, and there really isn’t much more to say about this piece. It also comes with another filler EX Skill.

Worth investing into? Only if you are using Melee and don’t have the Artemis or the Code Phi.

Blitz Gundam: Legacy

Low offensive stats, average evenly spread defensive stats and a filler EX skill. Even for a support suit, these arms are pretty bad, which is sad because they look amazing 🙁

Worth investing into? I guess if you really, really want to make that Blitz support suit and have the [High Mobility] tag active on it, otherwise pass.

Gerbera Tetra: Legacy

Low Melee ATK, high Shot ATK, similar defenses to the Blitz arms, and a filler EX Skill. These have very good word tags for a Shot ATK suit though, with [Ace Exclusive] and [Mid-Range]. If you can have both tags active and also get 6660 Shot ATK from all your other parts, these could actually be better than the SUMO arms. That’s a pretty tall order though.

Worth investing into? Not quite as good as the SUMO arms, but could potentially top out higher than it, so I’m going to give these a solid yes for Shot ATK suits. Melee ATK suits avoid these. No need for duplicates at least.

Tallgeese II: Legacy

I see a trend on these arm parts. They all tend to have filler EX skills, and this piece is no exception. Similar tags to the other pieces of the Tallgeese II, these arms only stand out for having high defenses, because like the Artemis, they come with a Shield. Unfortunately these are worse than the Artemis arms in every single stat, with rarer word tags too.

Worth investing into? Only if you do not have Artemis arms for some reason.

Hyaku Shiki: Legacy

These are some weird ones. Low offensive stats, okay defensive stats, a filler EX skill, but great word tags for Shot ATK suits, with [Ace Exclusive] and [Commander]. Unfortunately, you need a Shot ATK of 12140 with both word tags active before factoring in arm parts for these to beat out the SUMO arms. In the very unlikely scenario that you can achieve that in the future, these could come out on top.

Worth investing into? No, sell these off.

Gundam Gusion: Legacy

High armor and defenses, low ATK stats, bad word tags, filler EX skill. I’m seeing a pattern with this suit.

Worth investing into? No, sell these off.

Sword Strike Gundam: Legacy

These are like the Artemis arms in that they come with a shield. They have higher melee ATK than the Artemis arms and the second highest base Shot ATK, just barely being weaker than the Wing Gundam arms (1144 vs 1181). They once again come with the [High Firepower] and [Close Combat] word tags. Where this part is mediocre is the EX Skill, being a purely defensive buff, and the defensive stats, which are very low for also coming with a shield. Normally not an issue, but it does mean the Artemis, with better word tags, is still better for Melee ATK. For Shot ATK suits, these are compareable to the Mobile SUMO Arms if you do not have a shield you want to use or can’t activate the [Ace Exclusive] tag on the SUMO Arms.

Worth investing into? Yes, provided you don’t have a good shield and plan to use a Shot ATK Suit. Although if you do have a good shield, the Mobile SUMO arms would probably be better overall, assuming you can activate [Ace Exclusive]. No duplicates are needed for this one.

Stargazer Gundam: Legacy

Comes with a shield, very high defenses for a 3* part, though lower still than the Artemis, bad ATK stats and a good trait.

Worth investing into? Only if you don’t have the Artemis, and even then, only for a support suit. Overall I’d pass on this.

Strike Rouge IWSP:

Low ATK stats, bad word tags and a weak trait. Skip

Worth investing into? No, skip these.

Delta Plus: Legacy

Low stats all around, bad word tags, and a bad trait. This piece actually kinda baffles me at how bad it is.

Worth investing into? No, skip.

Gundam TR-1: Legacy

Stupidly low Melee ATK, low Shot ATK, an attribute dependant Melee Crit trait, and [Long-Range]

Worth investing into? Nope

Gundam F91: Legacy

This is another Arms + Shield combo, with identical stats to the Artemis Arms. The difference is a trait instead of an EX Skill and a weaker second tag, with [High Mobility] over [High Firepower]. The trait is solid if conditional, boosting Special Shot ATK by 30% with a Bazooka equipped.

Worth investing into? If you’re using a Middle-Shooter or Long-Shooter pilot and a Bazooka, yes, otherwise just use the Artemis Arms.

Buster Gundam: Legacy

Low ATK stats, average DEF stats, [Long-Range] and an insane Shot ATK EX Skill in Archer Stance. Archer Stance stacks with the Tallgeese II head buff, and any awakenings you have, which means while this part has low Shot ATK, you get up to a 39% Shot ATK boost from this one slot, making this part insane. This is a straight upgrade over the 1* Serpent Custom Arms that have the same skill.

Worth investing into? Absolutely for Shot ATK suits. Duplicates are needed.

Rozen Zulu: Legacy

Average Melee ATK, 0 Shot ATK, a filler EX Skill and [Ace Exclusive]. Pass.

Worth investing into? No.

Gundam Age Normal: Legacy

Low ATK stats, a bad trait, and the [Mid-range] tag. Pass.

Worth investing into? No.

Gundam Heavyarms:

Low Melee ATK, mediocre Shot ATK, [High Firepower] and a filler EX Skill. SUMO arms are still available, hard pass.

Worth investing into? No.

Best arms for Melee ATK:

Code Phi

Best arms for Shot ATK:

Buster Gundam (with EX Skill), Mobile SUMO (with Ace Exclusive), Sword Strike

Legs:

Artemis:

These legs have average stats for a 4* piece, an interesting trait of sometimes removing recoil, and the [Protag] word tag. Not much to say here.

Worth investing into? As usual, yes. It’s a solid, serviceable part that will do well no matter what suit you put it on. Like most Artemis parts, leave it at 4* unless you don’t have something higher impact to upgrade first. Duplicates are nice but not needed.

Code Phi:

These legs also have average stats, though they do go 1 point higher in offenses, just for funsies. They give a 14% crit chance, which comes out to about a 1.4% increase in damage on average. Sadly, the word tags here aren’t very good for Melee suits.

Worth investing into? These are solid legs for either Melee or Shot ATK, though not the best of the F2P bunch in either slot. Artemis is generally better for Melee and the SUMO and Hyaku Shiki legs are better for Shot ATK.

Mobile SUMO:

These are an interesting piece. They have the second highest base Melee ATK of all leg parts in the game, and so make a good alternative to the Code Phi legs or Artemis legs for Melee suits. However, they do not have any melee focused word tags, so keep that in mind. The EX Skill is a filler skill, the Shot ATK is a bit on the low side, but this part has very good Shot ATK word tags, [Ace Exclusive] and [Mid-Range]. Thanks to the word tags, the difference in Shot ATK compared to say, the Artemis is easily made up for. These do have low defenses though.

Worth investing into? For Melee ATK suits, yes if you don’t have the Code Phi legs or Artemis legs. For Shot ATK suits, these are amazing if you can activate both word tags, and no duplicates necessary either.

Rising Gundam: Legacy

Another interesting one, these trade the higher Melee ATK of the SUMO for much higher Melee defense, and worse word tags. They aren’t particularly good for Shot ATK suits either, sporting no good word tags, low Shot ATK, and a trait that gives 17% crit, which comes out to 1.7% increase in Shot ATK on average.

Worth investing into? We can safely skip these.

Blitz Gundam: Legacy

The Blitz Gundam legs are basically identical to the Rising Gundam legs, except higher, more balanced defenses, and the exact same trait. They come with the [Mid-Range] word tag to make them better for Shot ATK suits than the Rising legs.

Worth investing into? Sadly, no. The 1.7% damage increase from the trait isn’t enough to make up for the low stats here.

Gerbera Tetra: Legacy

These legs have average offenses, balanced but slightly below average defenses, and great word tags for Shot ATK in [Ace Exclusive] and [Mid-Range]. However, they also have a filler EX Skill. Honestly these are very, very solid legs for a Shot ATK suit. If you can activate both word tags, these beat out everything except the Hyaku Shiki and Quebeley + Mid-Shooter combo.

Worth investing into? Melee suits can pass on these, Shot ATK suits can enjoy these being amazing. They’re also slightly higher defenses than the SUMO, who matches the offense of this piece. No duplicates needed for this one either.

Tallgeese II: Legacy

These are basically the Gerbera Tetra legs only with worse word tags, and a trait instead of an EX Skill. Sadly, the trait is another meta trait that requires a [For Space] enemy, to give a Mid Shot attack boost of 14%.

Worth investing into? Not for Melee suits. Shot ATK suits might want to use these if you can activate the [Commander Tag] and have no other option besides the Artemis, but it’s probably not worth bothering.

Hyaku Shiki: Legacy

These legs have surprisingly high base Shot ATK and great word tags to go along with it. The Trait is quirky and could help, but is mostly ignorable.

Worth investing into? Absolutely yes! These are some of the highest Shot ATK legs available and they don’t need duplicates to function either.

Gundam Gusion: Legacy

Average ATK for a 3*, high armor and defense. Mediocre word tags and a filler EX Skill. Do I really need to say more?

Worth investing into? No, sell these off.

Sword Strike Gundam: Legacy

Another Mobile SUMO copy with different word tags. This time we get a trait instead of an EX Skill. The Trait is against Large enemies again, but this time it’s just a 17% Melee Crit boost, which is a weak trait to have. The legs come with [High Firepower], making these better than the Code Phi but worse than the Artemis legs for Melee suits.

Worth investing into? If you do not have the Artemis legs, sure. Otherwise, you can give these a pass. No duplicates needed.

Stargazer Gundam: Legacy

Low ATK stats, high defenses, a laughably bad trait, but hey, it has Protag!

Worth investing into? No, these are terrible. Even if you desperately need Protag there are better parts to use.

Strike Rouge IWSP:

Average ATK stats, average defenses, a filler EX Skill and bad word tags.

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Delta Plus: Legacy

Average ATK Stats, decent defenses, a decent trait, and it has an okay word tag in [Mid-Range]. These aren’t too bad for a Shot ATK suit if you can get Mid-Range active, but the previously recommended legs in this list for Shot ATK all surpass this piece.

Worth investing into? If you do not have the SUMO, Gerbera Tetra or Hyaku Shiki legs for your Shot ATK Suit, sure, otherwise skip.

Gundam TR-1: Legacy

Average stats all around, a filler EX skill and [Long-Range]

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Gundam F91: Legacy

This is yet another Artemis clone, with slightly changed RES stats. It also trades a trait for a filler EX skill.

Worth investing into? No, the Artemis Legs are better by virtue of their part trait.

Buster Gundam: Legacy

Average 3* stats, [Long-Range] and a filler EX Skill. Pass.

Worth investing into? No, skip these.

Rozen Zulu: Legacy

Average 3* stats, [High Firepower] and a terrible trait. Pass.

Worth investing into? Nope.

Gundam Age Normal: Legacy

Average 3* stats, [Protag], [Mid-Range] and a filler EX skill. These would be pretty good if the Artemis didn’t exist for [Protag] legs already.

Worth investing into? No.

Gundam Heavyarms:

Average 3* stats, [High Firepower] and a great trait. When using a Technique Gunpla, your Long Shot ATK is raised by 14%. This refers to the range at which you attack with your ranged attacks. If you can consistently control your range, these are the best F2P Shot ATK legs.

Worth investing into? Yes, with duplicates.

Best legs for Melee ATK:

Artemis

Best legs for Shot ATK:

Gundam Heavyarms

Back:

Artemis:

This back has average stats for a 4* piece, a trait that straight buffs your EX skill effects by 12%, and the [Protag] word tag. Not much to say here.

Worth investing into? As usual, yes. It’s a solid, serviceable part that will do well no matter what suit you put it on. Like most Artemis parts, leave it at 4* unless you don’t have something higher impact to upgrade first. Duplicates are nice but not necessary.

Code Phi:

Sadly, the Code Phi back isn’t available in game yet. So for now, this is a placeholder.

Mobile SUMO:

Another piece with the second highest Melee ATK in the game for this slot. Low but balanced defenses, the [Ace Exclusive] word tag, and a trait to boost EX Skill Piercing by 22% while above 60% Armor.

Worth investing into? It depends. For Melee ATK Suits, use this over the Artemis back if you can’t activate [Protag] on the Artemis, but if you can then the Artemis is much better. For Shot ATK suits, [Ace Exclusive] makes this backpack actually pretty good, but it does have low overall stats and really only brings the word tag to the table. Without the tag, it isn’t worth investing into. Duplicates are not necessary.

Rising Gundam: Legacy

Average offenses, average defenses skewed towards Melee again. What stands out here is the EX Skill. It’s a debuff that lasts 37 seconds and is on a 33 second CD, so you can keep this debuff on the enemy indefinitely. It lowers their Melee and Shot defense by 39%. This EX skill is really good on the surface, but there’s too much missing data right now to truly assess it. We don’t know exactly how it works. Does it work only on the single mobile suit you target? How do you target with it? Is it the suit you are facing? Besides that, we also don’t know the damage formula for this game, so we don’t know how much lowering their defenses would compare to say, boosting our offenses instead. I’m inclined to say that right now, this skill is not very good, as we as players can get our Melee ATK and Shot ATK to much higher values than our defense values, and the same goes for the enemy, so percentage based scalers work better on the higher numbers of offenses instead of the lower numbers of defenses.

Worth investing into? Maybe. It’s not a bad part, and if you don’t have a better buff or have the open slot anyways, the debuff is nice, for either Melee ATK or Shot ATK. I would hold off on investing, and instead keep it safe for a later date when we understand more about the inner workings of this EX Skill. Duplicates would be necessary if this turns out to be good.

Blitz Gundam: Legacy

Similar to the Rising, but more balanced defenses. The trait on this part is a 15% to not consume Vernier when stepping, which is neat but not much more than that.

Worth investing into? For that Blitz support suit to activate the [High Mobility] tag maybe, or a Shot ATK suit if you can activate the [Mid-Range] tag. Otherwise, just use the Artemis. Duplicates are nice but not necessary.

Gerbera Tetra: Legacy

This is basically the Blitz back with worse defenses, a better offensive word tag with [Ace Exclusive] replacing [Mid-Range], and a better trait. The trait buffs EX skill effects by 15% while your armor is 60% or more, making it a slightly stronger but conditional version of the Artemis back trait.

Worth investing into? If you can make use of [Ace Exclusive] this has really high Shot ATK for the slot. If you can’t use the tag, then don’t bother. Melee ATK suits should also pass on this. Duplicates help a lot, but aren’t strictly necessary.

Tallgeese II: Legacy

This is basically the Gerbera Tetra back almost exactly except with a worse word tag and another meta trait. Against a [For Space] enemy, this boosts shooting power by 25%, which is huge, but too situational to see use.

Worth investing into? If you can activate [Commander], this is on par with a [Mid-Range] Blitz back. Otherwise, like the Blitz, just use the Artemis back instead.

Hyaku Shiki: Legacy

This is basically the Gerbera Tetra back, replacing [Ace Exclusive] for the weaker [Commander] word tag. However, where this part shines is it’s meta trait, boosting shooting power by 25% vs [Ace Exclusive] enemies, which is massive, and [Ace Exclusive] is a strong, meta defining tag, meaning the odds of this working are high.

Worth investing into? Yes, and keeping it in your back pocket for when you know you’ll be fighting against an [Ace Exclusive] mobile suit. This part needs duplicates though.

Gundam Gusion: Legacy

Average ATK for a 3*, high armor and defense. Mediocre word tags and a filler EX Skill. Do I really need to say more?

Worth investing into? No, sell these off.

Sword Strike Gundam: Legacy

Yet another SUMO clone, trading out word tags and having an EX Skill instead of a trait. The Skill is a filler skill, so not something to worry about. [High Firepower] makes this better for melee than the SUMO, but worse for Shot ATK. Not much to say, everything about the SUMO back applies here.

Worth investing into? If you don’t need the Artemis back to get [Protag] active, then grab this for Melee suits. Otherwise, give these a pass. No duplicates needed.

Stargazer Gundam: Legacy

Low ATK stats, high defenses, Protag, and the first EX Skill for the Stargazer. It’s an awakening skill that boosts Shot ATK by 19%.

Worth investing into? For Shot ATK Suits, yes! Awakening skills are pretty rare and they stack with Buffs, like the Tallgeese II Head skill, and the backpack is a low ATK value part in general anyways. This isn’t like, close to BiS or anything, but it is an easy to get, really solid piece for Shot ATK suits. Duplicates are needed for this.

Strike Rouge IWSP:

Average ATK stats, average defenses, filler EX Skill and bad word tags.

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Delta Plus: Legacy

Average ATK stats, slightly above average defenses, [Mid-Range] word tag and an okay but not great trait.

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Gundam TR-1: Legacy

Average ATK, slightly above average defenses, a good Awakening EX skill and [Long-Range]. The Awakening skill boosts Melee ATK by 19%, which is quite good. This part is the best Melee back that is F2P, assuming you can spare the slot to use the EX Skill.

Worth investing into? This is basically the Stargazer back for Melee suits. Shot ATK suits can skip this. Melee suits probably want this with duplicates.

Gundam F91: Legacy

This is yet another Artemis clone, with slightly changed RES stats. It also trades a trait for a filler EX skill.

Worth investing into? No, the Artemis back is better by virtue of its part trait.

Buster Gundam: Legacy

Average stats, [Long-Range] and another very strong trait. It has the same trait as the Buster Head, making this an insane back for Shot ATK.

Worth investing into? Yes, duplicates are needed.

Rozen Zulu: Legacy

Average 3* stats, [High Firepower] and a very interesting EX Skill. It stuns your enemy when used, and judging based on the similar 1* Rose Gundam Arms skill, it probably lasts about 10 seconds. The usefulness of this part is up for debate, but it is an interesting part that could become very useful at some point.

Worth investing into? Pick up duplicates to max this part out and sit on them for a while, in case it becomes meta.

Gundam Age Normal: Legacy

Average 3* stats, [Protag], [Mid-Range] and a bad trait. This is another Age Normal part that would be good if the Artemis didn’t exist.

Worth investing into? No.

Gundam Heavyarms:

Average 3* stats, [High Firepower] and a filler EX skill. Pass.

Worth investing into? No.

Best back for Melee ATK:

Gundam TR-1 (with EX Skill), Artemis

Best back for Shot ATK:

Buster Gundam (with P Attribute suit), Hyaku Shiki (vs [Ace Exclusive] enemies), Stargazer Gundam (with EX Skill)

Pilots:

Harry Ord:

Harry is a really weird mixed bag of a pilot. He’s a defender, has the third highest Melee ATK in the game, has decent defenses, has a trait that benefits Shot ATK suits by increasing Beam Magazines by 20%, and finally has one word tag for each type, [Ace Exclusive] for Shot ATK and [Close Combat] for Melee ATK.

Worth investing into? He’s a very solid Melee ATK pilot, and can pull off a passable Shot ATK pilot as well thanks to [Ace Exclusive] and his trait. I would bring him to 4* at least, he’s very flexible and can fit on anything. Duplicates are very nice but not necessary.

Trieze Khushrenada: Legacy

Trieze is an In-Fighter with perfectly balanced, average stats, mediocre word tags, and when using a Technique suit, has a 14% to survive a fatal blow thanks to his trait.

Worth investing into? Another all-rounder, he’s another I would bring up to 4* because of his flexibility. He would be more aggressive than Harry because of his license. Duplicates are very nice but not necessary.

Selene McGriff: Legacy

Selene is a Supporter with very high Shot ATK, the [Protag] word tag, and a good on the surface but in reality fairly useless trait.

Worth investing into? If you don’t have a decent Shot ATK pilot, she’s actually really solid given her massive Shot ATK stat. Melee ATK suits can skip her. Duplicates are nice, but not necessary.

Cagalli Yula Atha:

Cagalli is a Mid-Shooter with a decent Shot ATK, the [Mid-Range] word tag, and an interesting but probably low value trait of boosting your projectile speed.

Worth investing into? She’s better than Selene for Shot ATK suits, and has a better AI for it too. Melee ATK suits can skip her, like Selene. Also like Selene, no duplicates are needed here.

Trowa Barton:

Trowa is effectively the same as Cagalli, except trading [Mid-Range] for [High Firepower] and a better trait that boosts your beam ranged weapon magazine.

Worth investing into? He’s the best F2P Shot ATK pilot right now, beating out both Cagalli and Selene. You need duplicates for him though.

Melee Weapons:

Arondight (Artemis):

This is a solid weapon, having average Melee ATK for a 4* melee weapon, a good trait boosting Melee damage by a flat 15, and good word tags in [Protag] and [High Firepower]

Worth investing into? As usual, yes. It’s a solid, serviceable part that will do well no matter what suit you put it on. This is one of the few Artemis parts I would bring up to 5* sooner rather than later, but specifically for a Melee ATK suit. Duplicates are very nice but not strictly necessary.

Beam Scythe (Code Phi):

Slightly higher Melee ATK than the Artemis, being tied for the highest in the game, while having worse word tags and trading a useful if low impact trait for a filler EX Skill.

Worth investing into? Only if you don’t have the Arondight, or can’t activate the Arondight’s word tags. Either one would push the Arondight into being better than the Beam Scythe. Duplicates are not needed here.

Heat Fan (Mobile SUMO):

Low stats, and a filler EX skill. The only upside is the [Ace Exclusive] tag for Shot ATK mobile suits

Worth investing into? Only if you absolutely need to get an [Ace Exclusive] melee weapon to turn the tag on, and even then I probably wouldn’t bother bringing it up at all and just equipping it as a 3* part. No duplicates needed either.

Beam Saber (Hyaku Shiki): Legacy

Bad word tags for Melee, low stats and a filler EX skill. It does have [Commander] for Shot Attack builds, but at that point, just run the Heat Fan instead.

Worth investing into? No, this can be skipped. Looks really nice visually though.

Gusion Hammer: Legacy

Abysmally low ATK, high armor and defenses, mediocre word tags and a filler EX Skill.

Worth investing into? On second thought, maybe. Pick up a single copy, no duplicates needed, to use on your Shot ATK suit for the armor and defenses if you don’t need the Heat Fan for [Ace Exclusive]. Basically the same kind of recommendation as the Submachine Gun further down.

Schwert Gewehr: Legacy

It has average Melee ATK for a 3* part, and good Melee ATK word tags. The EX Skill is a filler skill.

Worth investing into? Only if you don’t have the Arondight, but otherwise skip this one. No duplicates needed either.

9.1mm Experimental Anti-Ship Sword:

Low Melee ATK, bad word tags, and a bad trait. The one redeeming factor to these, besides being aesthetically cool as the first Dual Sword weapons, is their attack speed being very high to compensate for the lower ATK value, but that doesn’t help EX Skill damage so it’s a pretty weak point.

Worth investing into? No, skip these.

Beam Saber (Delta Plus): Legacy

Average Melee ATK, bad word tags, and an alright trait that boosts your Strong Melee Attacks by 20% when above 60% Armor.

Worth investing into? Not really, the Arondight is still better than this.

Beam Saber (F91): Legacy

This is a clone of the Arondight, with a worse word tag and a slightly different low impact trait. The main draw here is that it is a Saber category weapon instead of a Blade category weapon, which means not only does it attack faster, but it benefits from some of the stronger part traits like the Gundam Torso. The flip side is without something like the Gundam Torso, the Arondight can surpass this by activating both its word tags.

Worth investing into? Yes, this is the best of the F2P Melee weapons so far, and it doesn’t require duplicates either, though they would be nice to have.

Best melee weapon for Melee ATK:

Arondight (with both word tags activate), Beam Saber (F91) otherwise

Best melee weapon for Shot ATK:

Heat Fan (Mobile SUMO)

Ranged Weapons:

Beam Rifle (Artemis):

Identical to the Arondight but swap the Melee ATK for Shot ATK. The word tags are a little weaker here since [Protag] does nothing for a Shot ATK mobile suit.

Worth investing into? As usual, yes. It’s a solid, serviceable part that will do well no matter what suit you put it on. This is one of the few Artemis parts I would bring up to 5* sooner rather than later. This works nicely as a ranged weapon on a Melee suit trying to activate the word tags, or as a ranged weapon on a Shot ATK suit just because of it’s power.

Beam Rifle (Code Phi):

Unfortunately, this rifle is bad. It has [Ace Exclusive], which is good, but is has a very low Shot ATK value.

Worth investing into? Absolutely not. Even [Ace Exclusive] can’t save this rifle. Comparing a Artemis Rifle with no tags vs this rifle with the tag means you need 11800 or more Shot ATK from the rest of your suit to make it worth using this. If the Artemis rifle has [High Firepower] active then that number goes up to the impossible to reach ~23000. Sadly, this rifle just doesn’t cut it.

Hand Beam Gun (Mobile SUMO):

Low stats, but still higher than the Code Phi rifle, a small boosting trait that increases shooting damage by a flat 20 when your armor is 60% or more, and good word tags with [Ace Exclusive] and [Mid-Range].

Worth investing into? If you can get both tags active, you need only 3880 Shot ATK from other parts to be better than the Artemis Rifle. With only [Ace Exclusive] you need 5820 Shot ATK from other parts, and with neither active the Artemis is better. Duplicates are very nice, but not strictly necessary here.

Beam Machine Gun (Gerbera Tetra): Legacy

This is the Hand Beam Gun but it trades a small amount of Shot ATK for much better defenses. Unfortunately it trades the small boosting trait for a filler EX Skill. Same exact word tags though.

Worth investing into? No. Despite having the same tags, the lose of roughly 300 Shot ATK pushes the needed number from 5820 to ~8900, and even with both tags active you need 5833 Shot ATK from other parts to be better than the Artemis, which is a very difficult thing to pull off.

Beam Rifle (Hyaku Shiki): Legacy

This one is the Hand Beam Gun but with better defenses and worse word tags, and a different trait. The trait boosts Beam EX skills by 25%, which is nice on paper, except the only good Beam Skill at the moment is Last Shooting, which requires the RX-78 Rifle.

Worth investing into? No. This is better than the Beam Machine Gun but still worse than the Hand Beam Gun. This will help push the damage of some B Damage Beam Skills, particularly Melee ones where the lower Shot ATK isn’t as much of a detriment. However, testing has shown that the effect on Trans Am Raid, the only Beam Melee A Damage skill, is negligible, meaning there’s a ceiling to how much a skill can be boosted, and A Damage skills appear to hit that ceiling without the help of this rifle. Duplicates would be needed if you plan to use it.

Clay Bazooka (Hyaku Shiki): Legacy

This is the Hand Beam Gun but with a filler EX skill and worse traits.

Worth investing into? No. This one is a skip, for sure.

Submachine Gun (Gundam Gusion): Legacy

Terrible ATK, high armor and defenses, mediocre word tags…but we finally have a Gusion part with a trait! When using a Defender, your enemy shooting power is lowered by 25%. This is actually a really decent part for Defenders in particular. They focus more on melee and 25% less ranged damage is huge for letting them get in close.

Worth investing into? If you plan to use a Defender, this is probably pretty solid. This is also solid for Melee ATK suits where you don’t need tags, since it’s just a straight defense stat stick.

Beam Rifle (Delta Plus): Legacy

Low Shot ATK, bad word tags, and a good trait that boosts your Special Shot by 25% when attacking with Beam, which this weapon obviously is. Sadly, this trait doesn’t affect EX skills or regular shots, so it can’t save this weapon.

Worth investing into? No, skip this.

Beam Rifle (Gundam TR-1): Legacy

Low Shot ATK, [Long-Range], and a bad trait. This is basically an equivalent to the Submachine Gun from the Gusion, since it has very high defenses for a ranged slot. The Submachine Gun is still slightly better because of the trait helping defenders, but this is a suitable replacement for Melee suits.

Worth investing into? Like with the Submachine gun, this is a weapon for Melee suits when you don’t need word tags in this slot, as a pure defensive stat stick. No duplicates needed.

Beam Rifle (F91): Legacy

This is a Tech [Protag] ranged weapon, with a very good trait that shortens your initial EX skill CD by 20% when using a Saber weapon. It has average 4* stats as well.

Worth investing into? This is amazing for melee ATK Suits. It needs duplicates to really bring out its potential.

Beam Launcher (F91): Legacy

Another Tech [Protag] ranged weapon, this is identical to the Beam Rifle except the trait boosts EX Skill damage by 30% instead.

Worth investing into? Slightly worse than the Rifle, it’s still amazing for ATK suits and should be used. Duplicates are needed.

Hyper Impulse Long Range Sniper Rifle: Legacy

High Shot ATK for a 3* part, [Long-Range] and a filler EX Skill

Worth investing into? If you can activate the [Long Range] tag, sure. Otherwise don’t bother. No duplicates needed.

Combine Shield:

Our first Gun + Shield part. High defenses, low Shot ATK, [Commander] and a filler EX skill. Pass.

Worth investing into? No.

DODS Rifle: Legacy

Low Shot ATK, [Protag], [Mid-Range], okay defenses, but most importantly, a trait that reduces initial EX skill CDs. This part is great for Melee Power Attribute suits.

Worth investing into? Yes, with duplicates.

Beam Gatling Gun (with Shield):

Another Gun + Shield part. Slightly better Shot ATK than the Combine Shield but still below average, [High Firepower], high defenses and a good trait to boost beam ranged weapon magazines. Unfortunately, the Shot ATK is too low to really make use of this.

Worth investing into? No.

Best ranged weapon for Melee ATK:

Beam Rifle (F91)/Beam Launcher (F91), DODS-Rifle for P suits, Submachine Gun (Gusion)/Beam Rifle (Gundam TR-1) otherwise

Best ranged weapon for Shot ATK:

Hand Beam Gun (with [Ace Exclusive]), Hyper Impulse Long Range Sniper Rifle (with [Long Range]), Beam Rifle Artemis otherwise

Shields:

Shield (Delta Plus): Legacy

We finally have a standalone F2P Shield! As usual with shields, it offers no ATK at all. This one has bad word tags, a filler EX Skill, and average defenses. Still, it is the first F2P shield that isn’t attached to an Arm part and so might see use just because of that.

Worth investing into? Not really, but if you need a shield, well, it exists, and therefore is better than nothing.

Well, that’s it. That’s all the F2P farmable parts we’ve had so far, all reviewed. Hopefully you have found this guide useful.

Shield Booster (Gundam TR-1): Legacy

Our second F2P Shield arrives. No ATK, it has [Long-Range] and a trait that boosts EX Skill Buffs by 15% when using a Tech Attribute Gunpla. This is very good if you want a [Long-Range] Shield or if you use buffs on a Tech suit.

Worth investing into? It very much depends on your build. If you’re using it for the word tag, no duplicates are necessary. If you’re using it for the trait, you’ll need duplicates.

Enhanced Shield Booster (Gundam TR-1): Legacy

The Hazel comes with a second shield, bringing us up to 3 F2P shields. This is identical to the previous shield except it trades the trait for a filler EX skill.

Worth investing into? No, The previous one is just straight up better.

Shield (Rozen Zulu): Legacy

A filler EX skill and [High Firepower]. Not the best of the F2P shields, but still a shield.

Worth investing into? If you really need a shield, but at this point we’ve had a slew of them so there are probably better ones.

Anti-Beam Shield (Strike Rouge):

A bad trait and bad word tags. It’s not bad, but not really good either.

Worth investing into? If you really need a shield, otherwise no.

Shield (Age):

[Mid-Range], and an amazing part trait to boost Buff EX skills by 15% when using a Power attribute gunpla.

Worth investing into? Yes, with duplicates. This is one of, if not the best, Power shield available.

Changelog:

1.0 Release – 9/3/2019 11:00 EST

Posted initial guide.

1.1 Update – 9/3/2019 18:45 EST

Added color coding, notes about farming the Code Phi, and notes about whether duplicates are necessary or not.

1.2 Update – 9/4/2019 00:34 EST

Added the Hyaku Shiki parts.

1.3 Update – 9/10/2019 23:53 EST

Added the Gundam Gusion parts, did a big update in the legs section regarding new information on Critical Hits. Crits are only +10% damage, not +100% like is standard for games, so Crit Chance parts are actually garbage now. Instead of +17% chance to do double damage, which averages out to +17% damage outright, it’s actually +17% chance to do 1.1 times damage, which averages out to +1.7% damage outright.

1.4 Update – 9/13/2019 21:57 EST

Fixed some small color issues. I blame blue light filters and working on this at night. Adjusted the analysis of the Gusion Hammer and the Hyaku Shiki Beam Rifle. Added the Legacy tag to parts that are no longer available in game right now, and will continue to use this system in the future.

1.5 Update – 9/18/2019 00:08 EST

Added the Sword Strike parts, made some small adjustments to some Mobile SUMO pieces to reflect the Wing Gundam being released and having higher stats in a couple of places where the SUMO was highest base stats in the game previously.

1.6 Update – 9/25/2019 8:05 EST

Added the Stargazer parts, made some more small adjustments to color coding.

1.7 Update – 10/1/2019 23:36 EST

Added the Strike Rouge IWSP and Delta Plus parts, corrected some errors in formatting.

1.8 Update – 10/8/2019 23:31 EST

Added the Gundam TR-1 Advanced Hazel parts.

1.9 Update – 10/9/2019 8:29 EST
