Grand Summoners Player Progression Guide

{Step One} Build up your equipment. A good equipment box is as good a carry as any unit through the early-game. There should always be a special Equipment banner (The Great Awakening, Seasonal (Halloween, Summer, Christmas) or Collaboration) up at all times, so pull on those! If you don’t have enough crystals to do so once you’ve finished rerolling, skip ahead to Step Two and come back to this step once you have 30 .

{Step Two} Develop your units. Note that the following advice only applies to 5-star units. Do not invest into 4-star units as they are VERY easily replaced. Level them to their max and Evolve them as much as you can (not Awakening just yet) (complete Metal Chicken Quests and Golcat Quests for this). Limit Break important units like Fes/Limited Units and max out their Limit Break Stats with Tasmons. Also Limit Break important gacha (not Event) Equipment to reduce their CT. You may consult #questions-and-advice for Limit Break priority until you can judge for yourself.

{Step Three} Progress through the story up until Chapter 5. If you find yourself struggling at some point, try and Awaken one of your units. Otherwise, with competent team-building and gameplay, you should be able to do it with ease. The importance of doing this is completing all Story Quest Missions for Rayas’ LB Units which you can use to get him to Luck 80 (!!!).

{Step Four} Awaken your units. This is done by gathering Awoken Fragments from Giant Bosses. The best way to get these as a newbie is to do the ADV-PRO difficulties’ Missions (usually Break DMG, no deaths and don’t use duplicate units). If these aren’t sufficient to Awaken any of your units, farm PRO (or ask for help farming PRO in #find-a-party or #global-general) for AWK keys then request for help with the AWK-difficulty of the GB from WOKEs by reading #awoken-access. Limited Missions may also be available that grant Awoken Fragments.

{Step Five} Complete the Tower of Initiation and Training. The Tower of Initiation and Training Quests are pretty easy to complete and have useful rewards for a new player, including filler Equipment, LB Stones and Crystals. Be sure to complete them for the freebies!

{Step Six} Get a proper Luck Unit! Rayas can’t sustain you forever as he’s quite weak, so the sooner you can get a Luck unit the better! It’s generally agreed that Edram from the Echoes of Invasion Trial Event is the best Luck Unit to farm to 120 Luck for his versatile kit and ease-of-farm, so be sure to get to #find-a-party to get a proper farm party together ASAP. If his Event isn’t up at the moment, it usually rotates in once or twice a week, so just skip ahead to Step Seven for the moment.

{Step Seven}Farm equipment. Most of the better equipment in the game is farmable, so don’t be afraid to try out a few events! Check #collab-event-info (if it’s up when a Collaboration Event is on) or #banner-and-event-advice for advice on what to farm and how much of it to farm. Equipment from Events (not Giant Bosses) are usually limited and very powerful, so put those at a priority and farm GB equipment later. The `… gbdrops` command lists some very useful farmables from GBs (most notably Relic “Lesser Demonheart” from “Caves of Darkness”), and you can ask in #questions-and-advice if you should farm certain equipment or not (if you’re unsure). Getting a Luck Unit makes this step much less painful, so prioritize Step Six over this step.

{Step Eight} Farm Events! Events are limited-time Quests that give currency, which can be traded in at the Alchemist (Town > Alchemist > Exchange) for Limited S Potions (top priority for their low price) LB Stones (actual top priority), Equipment Enhancement Materials (second priority, unless you have a large overflow of these), Evolution Materials (the Dragon Gods share second priority as they can be fused into Paradisos at the Alchemist), Event Equipment (priority is usually first, second or third, unless the Equipment is quite bad, see #banner-and-event-advice for more info), Boot Camp Keys (fourth priority) and Awoken Souls (fifth priority due to their high price).
