Quartz in Granblue Fantasy

The world of Granblue Fantasy introduces several interesting and compelling mechanics that, while seen in other games, help make it stand out from the rest of its genre.

One of those mechanics, in particular, is the rare crafting materials, the Elemental Quartz. These items come in several different elemental classifications and are most often obtained by reducing summoning stones, though this can often take a considerable amount of time.

Quartz is a rare material with many different uses throughout the game. Because it is so rare that it can be frustrating for some players who want to utilize them to their fullest potential. So we will be going over several effective farming methods for Quartz so that you have as much as you need for any crafting requirements.

Method #1. Utilizing Side Quests

Arguably the most effective method of farming quartz throughout the game is by doing side quest missions.

These missions are generally very plentiful and will leave varying level summoning stones as their rewards. As most of the side quest summoning stones are fairly useless compared to the ones you get through the main storyline, their only real use is through reduction for quartz.

Method #2. Uncap your SR Summons

This is a fairly expensive method and is more for those looking to get a massive uptick in quartz right away and aren’t willing to consider farming via the side quests.

Using a moonlight stone to uncap your SR summons, you can then reduce any of these summons for even more quartz. The most effective way to use this method is by uncapping and reducing creature summons instead of normal summons, as this will result in multiple quartz drops rather than a single drop from a normal summon reduction.

To get a moonlight stone, you can go to either the Casino or the Arcarum. Keep in mind that both of these methods are fairly costly and should ideally only be used by players with a large enough stash of resources available.

The Casino offers a moonlight stone but at the cost of 1 million casino chips. Similarly, only 5 moonlight stones are available per month, making them very rare and very costly.

For the Arcarum, to get a moonlight stone, you must trade them out for a sunlight stone. As sunlight stones are generally even more valuable, this shouldn’t be done unless you are adequately stocked up.

Method #3. Go on Raids

The final -and arguably easiest- method of farming quartz is by going on raids. By going through various raids, you will continually pick up different summoning stones, many of them being duplicates or simply summonings that you will not use in the game.

Rather than sell these or ignore them, reduce them instead for quartz. Also, because raids are a consistently available option, you can perform them regularly, essentially creating a never-ending and indefinite treasure trove of summoning stones that can be used to create quartz.
