Ok, bear with me, I’ve never written a guide or one of these docs before.

Notes

  • IMPORTANT: Special mission #10 asks you to find a fish in a hidden area in Golden Sea, but IT IS IN SEA OF TRANQUILITY. NOT. GOLDEN. SEA.
  • Gacha rates are 91% for 3*(2), 8% for 4*(3), and 1% for 5*(4)*

[non parentheses are spirits, in parentheses are gears]

4-5* tickets are 95% for 4*, and 5% for 5*

  • During rate-up event, the rates are 81% for 3*(2), 16% for 4*(3), and 3% for 5*(4).

Fishing Gameplay Info & Tips

  • Autofishing does not grant combos; you will do more damage manually.
  • Every 10 combos, you start to deal more bonus damage up to combo count 40.
  • Missing a note resets your combo counter.
  • Bait targeting is when you use special bait to increase the rate of certain fish rarities or types appearing. (You’ll know it’s successful if a Pinky pops up in the bottom left corner before the rhythm gameplay)
  • Feeding can increase a fish’s size, level by feeding it in the aquarium
  • Always remember to get the free auto fishing bait each day in the market
  • If you fail to catch a fish, there is a retry option after watching an ad, which grants you and your spirits 10% extra damage, and -10% hp on the fish.
  • EXP gained from fishing is relative to rarity of fish as well as size. (larger fish=more exp)

What Should I Focus On?

Story Campaign & Leveling

  • A lot of content is gated by levels, so leveling should be one of your first priorities.

Filling your aquariums

  • Super cheap and useful items can be made here for just catching specific fish.

Equipment Upgrades

  • Level 3* items to promote your 4* items
  • Don’t use 2* rods to promote 4* rods, upgrading them will be too expensive. It’s fine for the rarer equipment types like cannons, rings, and ships
  • Not all items are born equal. Base 4* items will always have higher base stats than items promoted to 4*; applies to all rarity tiers
  • Use dupes to transcend the item, but only if it’s good. Don’t bother transcending low rarity items you’ll never use.

What Should I Spend Aquamarines On?

Highly Recommended:

  • 7 and 28 day attendance – they cost 300 and 600 aquamarines respectively. For the 14 day, you get back your 300 aquamarines on the 7th day so you basically get free items at the cost of waiting 7 days to get your aquamarines back. The 28 day gives you back 300 aquamarines on the 7th day, and an additional 600 on the 14th, basically an extra 300 aquamarines.
  • 28 Day Goddess’s Blessing – you get to autofish 200 times a day with your equipped choice of bait, 20% bonus exp, 20% off enhancing spirits and gears, 20% bonus spirit points when selling spirits, 20% off production, and 20% increase in coins from donating fish.

Depends:

  • Fishing Gear / Fashion Gear – If you really want to try for more customization, or improving your gear early game, since we don’t get as many gear tickets as spirit summon tickets. Just keep in mind rates aren’t very high – might be beneficial to wait for rate up. Pull at your own risk.

Not Recommended:

  • Spirit Summons – We are given a ton of these from just playing the game. If you must pull, wait for a rate up, or if you really have nothing else to spend aquamarines on and want to pull.

Others:

  • Pearlstone Area Aquarium (for those lvl 30~40+) – can be bought with 500 aquamarines, and upgraded to 32 slots for an additional ~80(?) aquamarines. Fairly easy to hit 160k points at lvl 40+ where you are able to produce a 4-5* L/D summon ticket every ~2.5 days for 2m gold. (You can get 2x tickets, if you go to aquarium and double up with video ad, ty Max Rokk)
  • Raids – since essences are gated by time and days, if you need to evolve certain spirits, may be a good idea to refresh on solo raids.
  • If you’re looking for farm gems or ship blueprints, refresh on 4p raids.

Spirits

  • Fire > Wood > Water > Fire; Light > Dark and vice versa.
  • 3 Zodiac bonus grants 10% damage to your spirits, 4 grants 20%.
  • When you evolve spirits, their zodiac has the potential to change. Therefore, it is not recommended to use the Zodiac Symbol change on an unevolved spirit.
  • Only 4-5* Zodiac can evolve.

Team Recommendations?

(all one element, mix of elements, etc)

Just focus on what gives synergistic buffs for team compositions (ex. Bunny crit buff + Grim Reaper damage buff on crit, + dps & flex)

  • Save your hidden fish – they are needed for unlocking hidden areas which only last for 1 hour.
  • Try to keep some S~SS grade fish in your inventory. Many Fish Market quests require high grade fish to complete. SS grade fish are also the best for donations in club regardless of rarity level.
  • Certain fish are required for Aquariums to produce items.

Clubs

  • When donating to clubs, choose only SS normal or Hidden B+ grade fish. Fish rarity (stars) doesn’t matter; hidden give more than normal fish. Donations are not a daily thing; if you want to donate again you need to spend 5 aquamarine.

PvP

  • PvP is automated except for when you reach ~20% HP, you have the ability to launch one cannon attack.

Raids

Solo:

  • This is where you farm for essences to evolve your spirits. You get 1 entry every 30 minutes, capped at 5. These entries are shared with 4p raids.
  • Solo raid is open all day. The element(s) open depends on the schedule.
  • You can start acquiring high essences at raids level 40+

4P:

  • This is where you farm for ship blueprints and gems for evolved spirits.
  • Appear every 8 hours for 1 hour. (7 am, 3 pm, 11 pm EST)

Beast Hunts

  • Resets biweekly
  • Can join beasts your friends have started (if your friend’s beast is 100%, it is cleared, cannot join, visual bug)
  • +1 Drops for host, most damage dealt, finishing blow, and participation
  • Higher level beast=higher tier rewards

Fishing Contests

  • Highly recommend joining these whenever you can as a newer player. If you manage to place within the top 100, you get a reward box that gives you 3-4* gears. If you manage to place within the top 10, the reward box becomes guaranteed 4* gears.
  • There are 3 types of contests:
  • Highest Scoring
  • Largest Fish
  • Most Fish Caught
  • How to differentiate fish in each type of contest:

*for all 3 contests, leave if fish clearly isn’t one you’re looking for to save time*

Highest Scoring:

  • Shark – 2* large fish, moves very fast, long notes + fury mode
  • Dorado – 2* large fish, moves slower than shark, faster than parrotfish, long note
  • Parrotfish – 2* large fish, moves the slowest of the 2* fish, fury mode
  • Hammerhead – 3* large fish, medium speed, fury mode
  • Giant Bass – 3*, fury mode, slowest of the 3*
  • Bluefin Tuna – 3*, 30k+ hp, moves the fastest of the 3* fish, dive notes
  • Clownfish – 1* small fish, moves extremely slowly
  • Penguin – 2* small fish, 15k hp, moves faster than seahorse
  • Yellow Bream – 1* small fish, the only wood type
  • Seahorse – 1* small fish, 18k hp, faster than clownfish, IGNORE

*only things listed are attributes needed for discerning between fish*

Largest Fish:

  • Use 2* bait to target, look for Shark attributes from above

Most Fish Caught:

  • Use 3* bait to target, look for small fish
  • Seahorse is 3*, small fish, lots of hard notes, some long notes
