FEH Fire Emblem Heroes Tier List

Here are my unit rankings. Top of a given tier = more powerful than lower in a given tier. 

Many hours went into this tier list, and I’m only posting this after having carefully and agonizingly compared every unit with every matchup in the game. I am now confident that this tier list is very close to objective truth, and that anyone who’s getting into Fire Emblem: Heroes should take this Tier List to be as good as it gets. Zephiel

• This guy’s stat total is gargantuan. One of the highest in the game.
• Exaccus’ threaten def is useful for any party that relies on physical damage.
• Life and Death lets him hit for even harder.
• Wary Fighter makes him one of the most resilient characters in the game.
• Overall has no weaknesses.

Young Tiki 

• High stat total and well rounded stats.
• Friends with Mar-Mar.
• Deals magic damage.
• Is a dragon.

Wrys 

• I debated putting him so low, because there’s a strong case for him being the strongest character in the game. This shouldn’t require an explanation.
• Best heals in the game, period.
• Slow is an amazing debuff.
• Very humble, yet supremely talented, like Cordelia’s description.

Virion 

• Sleeper OP unit. Everyone underrates him.
• Astra lets him do tons of damage.
• Seal Spd lets him duel anyone and win.
• Everyone gets him for free.

Ursula 

• Highest possible damage in the game due to Horse Emblem and Blarblade.
• One of the best racks artworks in the game.
• Everyone gets her for free.

Tiki 

• Distant counter.
• Amazing defense.
• Bonfire helps her deal more damage due to said defense.
• Is a dragon.

Tharja

• I’m tpying this wit one hand, so forgive any typos
• Hi dmg potential with Raudrblade
• Darting Blow makes her fatser than Sonic
• She lieks darkness

Takumi

• Needs very little explanation.
• Top tier threat with close counter.
• Threaten speed.
• Stupid hair.

Sully

• Can win any red matchup.
• Benefits from horse emblem.
• She curses and is overall an edgy af character.
• 3 mobility is cool.

Subaki

• Best unit in the game for Grand Hero Battles, even 3 star can pwn anyone.
• High defenses.
• Perfect at everything, whether it be in battle or as a conversational partner. 
• Best flier in the game.

A tier

Stahl

• Can win any green matchups.
• Benefits from horse emblem.
• 3 mobility is cool.

Spring Xander

• Amazing defense, wow
• Wields a carrot
• Supposedly is attractive, but as a straight guy, I’ll let others be the judge of this
• Extra badges in training tower, amazing
• Wields a carrot

Spring Lucina

• Her headpiece is the height of fashion, don’t you think?
• Her headpiece changes expressions when she’s injured
• Her headpiece is just adorable
• She wears a bunny suit
• She has high speed
• I just want to hug her
• She lays eggs, according to some sources ^{[citation needed]}

Spring Chrom

• Surprisingly high speed
• Very good attack
• Would be better with Falchion, but oh well, no unit is perfect except Wrys
• Best powerlevel character in the training tower, can double exp that received by his allied Arthurs/Berukas/Cherches/other characters you got while trying to futilely roll for Hector

Spring Camilla

• Agan im riting this w/1 hand, bear w/me
• Breast artowkr in the game
• Only fling mage
• Heals herself

Sophia

• Best user of Raudrraven
• High defenses
• Skinniest neck in the game
• She’s part dragon, which brings her rating up instantly. Also probably part giraffe

Sheena

• She looks really mad. Why?
• Best defenses in the game
• Escutcheon + killer lance means most things don’t scratch her
• You need her for those armor emblem quests

Sharena

• She is my number 1 fan, forever and ever
• Despite this, I will rank her objectively and without bias
• Fensalir is cool
• Fortify Def is cool
• Rally atk is cool
• She is cool

Shanna

• She calls me chief
• Desperation is nice, especially if that’s your fetish
• Iceberg is nice b/c she has high res
• She says I’m the chief

Severa

• Best combined defenses of any infantry in the game aside from Young Tiki
• Tri Adept + Armorslayer means she’ll never lose against Hector… then again, Hector is actually low tier
• Threaten speed and high speed allow her to double anyone, amazing

Setsuna

• hey look a butterfly
• huh? 

Serra

• Best buffer in the game. +4 atk/spd to any allies
• Great heals
• Overall very bratty, which holds me back from rating her higher

Seliph

• Not as good as his father
• Has a really weird name
• Great attack
• Great hp
• Wields Tyrfing, which everyone knows is great

Sanaki

• Largest forehead in the game
• Unwarranted sense of importance
• She’s not Ike

Sakura

• Heals from a distance, wow!
• 6 atk debuff 
• Buffs allies for def and res, nobody will take damage!

Saizo

• He has anger problems
• He poisons things and doesn’t afraid of anything
• He has really big biceps

B tier

Ryoma

• He counters from a distance
• He is a lobster

Roy

• He is our boy
• Wins any green matchup, he’s such a good boy
• Pairs well with Cecilia, he’s such a good student
• Can shove people around

Reinhardt

• Looks like a vampire
• Speaks with a British accent, so he is automatically smarter than average
• Attacks twice and wields magic, how cool
• He can buff cavalry members, great team synergy

Rebecca

• Her eyes shall illuminate your path
• Top tier speed with Darting Blow
• She forgot her bow string at home, so she loses points with me

Raven

• He has anger problems
• He doubles people with Brave Axe
• He can recover his own hp
• Raven is a girly name
• He doesn’t say “nevermore,” which just isn’t fitting for his name

Raigh

• Edgelord who can’t even spell his name the conventional way (Ray?)
• Hardcounters horse emblem like a boss
• Seals people’s resistance

Priscilla

• Her attack pose does things for me. I like it
• Healer on a horse
• Rehabilitate is best heal

Peri

• P is for psychotic
• E is for eggs. She should’ve gotten an easter costume, smh
• R is for rides a horsie
• I is for Iceberg works well on her

Palla

• She cannot be merciful
• Ruby Sword lets her win green matchups
• Wings of Mercy allows her to fly all over the map and pwn anyone
• Goad Fliers makes her the staple of any Flier Emblem team

Olwen

• She scares easily, I guess
• Can attack twice with Dire Thunder
• She rides a horse

Olivia

• She doesn’t like attention, so stop reading this right now and go right over to Ogma’s section

Ogma

• He’s fucking ripped
• He deals lots of damage, especially under 50% hp

Odin Dark

• He’s very flamboyant
• Doesn’t wield Missiletainn, so he gets –points in my book

Oboro

• Waifu material
• Great defense
• She has a good sense in fashion
• She can hard counter Zephiel, the #1 character in the game

Nowi

• Look away, sick fuck

Nino

• She can’t even read this, so what’s the point in even writing this section? Next

Ninian

• She is a dragon
• She is a dancer
• She is a Pokemon who can use Dragon Dance

Niles

• Gay
• High res
• Iceberg
• Low atk

Navarre

• Also gay
• He wears leggings on his arms, wtf man
• His atk is too low
• His spd is good at least

Narcian

• He has style
• He has a coconut gun grace
• This wyvern lord has a funny face (when he’s injured)
• He can handstand, but he doesn’t need to
• Fly around the map, just for you
• Inflate his wyvern, just like a balloon
• This crazy lord just digs this tune
• HUH

Minerva

• She has high stats, but is overall not as fabulous as Narcian. 
• Hauteclere is cool

Michalis

• He intends to conquer the worlds. All of them.
• Hauteclere is cool

Merric

• #1 counter to Flier Emblem
• He shares his name with some dude that Barack Obama was going to appoint for the Supreme Court but then again, Obama wasn’t really a good president, so this is kinda not cool
• Wind magic is neat

Matthew

• He poisons stuff and doesn’t afraid of anything
• He can buff his allies’ speed
• He can debuff enemies

Marth

• Pivots around the map and can use Escape Route too, so he’s very mobile
• One of the few characters in the game who has neutral matchups against the space animals.
• Fantastic air game.
• One of the longest grab ranges in the game.
• Great KO potential with dair or forward smash.
• Falchion has better hitboxes than Binding Blade.
• Unfortunately he’s floaty so he gets KOed easily.
• Lacks projectiles. 

Maria

• She heals from a distance, which is great
• Tankiest healer due to Miracle

RobinM

• Not as strong as Batman, and will forever live in the latter’s shadow
• Very durable
• Bonfire is nice

CorrinM

• Doesn’t wear shoes, which is disgusting. Even McDonald’s has policies against that.
• Can’t transform into a dragon
• Overall is outclassed by other red users, especially Lobster King

C tier 

Lyn

• S+ tier artwork
• Deals a lot of damage
• Very squishy in more ways than one

Lucius

• She has surprisingly high res.
• Unfortunately, she can’t really do damage.
• She is very tanky though, due to Miracle. This is a trait she shares with Maria.
• One of the prettier faces in the game, at least.

Lucina

• Wins easily against Eirika, Ephraim, and Sharena. 
• Deals extra damage to dragons
• Heals herself
• She’s cuter as a bunny. Especially with that headpiece.

Lon’qu

• Idk how to pronounce his name
• He’s afraid of women. What a pussy
• His defenses are too low

Lissa

• Most delicate character in the game
• Can buff attack by 4
• Rehabilitate is best heal in the game

Linde

• She’s overrated
• She has daddy issues.

Lilina

• Deals lots of damage
• Can’t take a hit, unfortunately

Leo

• Rides a horse and benefits from Horse Emblem
• Brynhildr can reduce foe movement speed
• Hard countered by Ephraim

Laslow

• He likes tea
• He easily beats any axe user due to Axebreaker

Lachesis

• She can steal HP from her enemies
• She loves her brother. The two of them have an extremely wholesome relationship, obviously.

Klein

• Brave bow is nice
• Glacies is nice
• Death blow is nice

Karel

• He is like a worse version of Lyn
• He has a lot of HP

Kagero

• Another character with great artwork
• Counters most infantry in the game
• Has very low hp

Julia

• Her voice is adorable
• I want to hug her and give her things

Curious Jeorge

• For some reason, he’s not a monkey? Wtf nintendo

Jakob

• Debuffs enemies
• Has good stats for a thief unit

Jagen

• He is a war hero, unlike John McCain. Oh, come on, John McCain is a war hero because he got captured? Please. I like people who don’t get captured. Jagen fought in numerous wars, was used as a decoy and mercilessly assaulted by King Jiol’s entire fucking army, survived, and then came back to assist Marth. That is a war hero, not some geriatric, psychotic neo-con like McCain.
• Despite being a war hero, he seems to be winding down. He is not very strong, unfortunately.

Jaffar

• Dies too easily
• Gets jailbaited by Nino… come on dude she’s like 14, go hit on Lin or something instead

Hinoka

• Only user of Hone Fliers in the game
• This is her only use

Hinata

• He talks about his armpits, which is gross
• He damages himself with Fury
• He has high defense

Henry

• He likes crows
• He has high defense
• He has low everything else

Hector

• He is overrated.
• His axe cursed him to always die in battle, so he is a low tier unit

Hawkeye

• Overall a well balanced unit who is very powerful.
• However, he lacks one crucial component: nipples

Hana

• Deals tons of damage, but dies easily
• Armorslayer lets her win against Hector, but then again, Hector is also a low tier unit

Gwendolyn

• High defenses
• Can’t really move anywhere without taking one step backwards due to Drag Back

Gunter

• Gunter is the personal penguin companion of the Ice King. He is said to be the most evil being in all of Ooo, and has on multiple occasions tried to take over the world through some sort of magical means. Gunter has one child, which is a pink kitten.

Gordin

• He looks like a minor, but actually isn’t one
• Brave bow is nice
• His defense is wtfbbq

Gaius

• He likes candy, which may or may not be a euphemism for pedophilia (idk Nintendo, you tell me… you gave us Nowi, after all)
• Not really that good of a thief
• His hp is good, at least

D tier 

Frederick

• Very low res and poor speed
• He has a horse, at least

Florina

• She’s too shy
• She sounds like Sharena

Fir

• She is the mascot of Fir Emblem, so this counts for something.
• Her attack is really low
• Glacies helps with this, at least

RobinF

• Wears oversized clothes
• She hard counters any cavalry

CorrinF

• Doesn’t wear shoes. This is disgusting IMO, but I guess some people are into this.
• She can transform into a dragon
• Her res is really low
• She can debuff people

Felicia

• Did you know that she’s from the ice tribe of her world?
• …Now you do!

Fae

• She’s too young for violence, keep her away from the battlefield

Est

• Very low hp
• Decent attack

Ephraim

• He does not date his sister, what are you talking about?
• It’s not like he takes her into their bed chamber every night, whispering sweet nothings into her ear.
• Why on earth would you think that he has carnal knowledge of her lithe, slender, creamy, angelic body?
• Seriously, these are just unfounded, despicable rumors. They must stop.
• He is hard countered by Lucina.

Eliwood

• He was a top tier character in FE7, perhaps one of the best, but he sucks here

Elise

• Rappel lets her stall for a few seconds while the rest of the team comes in to assist her.
• She can recover hp while also being a decent melee combatant when in spider form.
• She has a decent stun, but it does no damage.
• Her burst isn’t top tier, but it’s decent nonetheless. She’s more of a sustained damage mage, along the lines of Diana, rather than a burst-oriented one like Annie or Syndra.

Eldigan

• The prime minister of Turkey is a Muslim, totalitarian fanatic. Wait, that’s not who we’re talking about here? …Oh, Eldigan, not Erdogan. Okay. Uhh…
• He has decent stats I guess
• He and his sister totally have a wholesome relationship

Eirika

• Creamiest skin in the game

Effie

• Om nom nom nom nom nom nom

Draug

• Too slow to do anything
• Has really high def
• Put Wo Dao on him to make him viable

The_Donnel

• Giant tropical centipedes share their territories with tarantulas. Despite its impressive length, it’s a nimble navigator, and some can be highly venomous. As quick as lightning, just like the tarantula it’s killing, the centipede has two curved hollow fangs which inject paralyzing venom. Even tarantulas aren’t immune from an ambush. This centipede is a predator.

Cordelia

• She was a really annoying character when she first appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, though she really matured when she reappeared in Angel. 
• She’s one of the most important characters for the series when you consider her impact on how Angel Investigations was structured, as well as the psychological impact she had on the majority of the cast, particularly Angel himself in the later seasons, Connor, and Wesley. 
• She unfortunately didn’t appear much in the final season of the show, but her role in the final story arc of the series was nonetheless important, as her presence was the impetus behind Angel bringing down the Circle of the Black Thorn and ultimately staging his dramatic last stand against Marcus Hamilton and the hellish forces of Wolfram and Hart’s Senior Partners. 
• In his darkest moments, Angel was provided comfort and reassurance by Cordelia, which enabled him to overcome feelings of self doubt and to press on, despite all odds. In this way, she had a profound influence on his character that not even Buffy or Darla had throughout the series’ running.

Clarine

• Healer on a horse
• Can debuff enemy atk by 6

Chrom

• He was named after a web browser, which is a lame name origin
• Not as strong as his daughter, a trait which he shares with Bartre
• Falchion is good, at least
• He is stronger with bunny ears
• Hard countered by Ephraim

Cherche

• She likes wyverns
• She is a crazy wyvern lady, which I’m guessing is like Ylisse’s version of a crazy cat lady. Personally, I’m partial to cats and bunnies, which is why I ranked Bunny Lucina and Playboy Camilla a lot higher.

Cecilia

• MILF
• Hard countered by Zephiel

Catria

• Last entry im writing with 1 hand, I promise
• Seal atk is nice
• I can’t stop looking at that injured artwork, someone please help

Camus

• Best outfit in the game. I want clothes like that. Can anyone buy some of those for me? Thanks
• I also want a lance like his
• He is the quintessential “honorable knight” who set the standard for numerous FE villains in years to come. 
• I might be a little gay for him

Camilla

• Never mind, I am most definitely straight. Brb

Cain

• Cain is better than Abel in this game, just like in the Bible. Illuminati confirmed?

Caeda

• Her attack is icky
• She has no wing spear

F tier 

Beruka

• Flying fortress with amazing defense
• Her attack is really lame
• So is her speed
• And so is her res

Bartre

• Amazing voice acting
• Amazing mustache
• Not as strong as his daughter
• Why is his wife not in this game?

Barst

• He was stronger in FE1 and its 9,732 remakes
• TIMBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Azura

• She is overrated

Azama

• What is a rating anyway? 
• If you think about it, none of the ratings really make sense. Why would one character be more preferable than the other? Because winning is preferable to losing? And why would that be? It just as well may be arbitrary. Why do we not prefer losing? If we prefer losing, then we may as well rank Zephiel the lowest! Losing should be the new metagame. But it isn’t, because ratings are arbitrary. Life is arbitrary. This rating is nonsensical and so is all of life. Nothing really has any meaning.

Arthur

• Despite his comical appearance and ridiculous hair, his platform is actually very sensible. 
• He is against illegal immigration, while being perfectly fine with legal immigration when done through the right channels.
• He is one of the few politicians to express an interest in destroying “radical Islamic terrorism.”
• He wants to clean up the Affordable Care Act. Contrary to popular opinion, he does not want less people to be insured; he wants as many people to be insured as possible, which includes covering those with pre-existing conditions. He actually agrees with the ACA’s aims (he was a New York Democrat for awhile, after all); he simply recognizes, as any intellectually honest person would, that its implementation was messy and full of errors.
• He has a very good business record, and understands better than most politicians how economics and business work; he intends on putting this acumen to work in order to bring back jobs to the United States. To this end, he has withdrawn from the TPP, intends to renegotiate NAFTA, and has already brought back tens of thousands of jobs to the United States. 
• He believes that gay marriage is effectively a settled issue and would not seek to overturn the ruling of the Obergefell v. Hodges case.
• Mainstream FEH community always underrates him and says he’s a bad unit. Despite constant smears of racism or sexism, he has never actually said anything which would indicate any bigoted belief that any racial group, or women as a whole, are inferior to anyone else. Recently, he actually signed an act which would “encourage more girls and women to pursue careers in STEM fields.”

Anna

• Unfortunately she is outclassed by even Hector.
• I like her special artwork.

Alfonse

• Remind me again, who is this guy?

Abel

• Worst unit in the game. 
• Needs no explanation. 

Closing Remarks

After painstakingly going through this tier list, I can say that I’ve learned a lot about different matchups and hero strengths. It’s really been an enlightening experience. Playing with different natures and skillsets also broadened my understanding of which skills tend to be good, and which tend to not be. Because of skill inheritance, you should always be checking every opponent’s skills, lest you be caught by a Vantage Takumi or something like that. Really, I also wanted to thank anyone who read this and provides positive feedback on this. Of course, I’m not perfect, and ultimately the placements here are my opinions, even if I happen to believe that they are utterly infallible. So thanks anyone who read this and finds my opinions to be of value. I don’t think that making a list like this is that hard to do; it just takes time. Lately I’ve had a lot of that since I’ve had one week off in between grad school terms. Fun. 

Of course, I won’t be able to continue putting out quality content like this one. Obviously, I have a life and real life obligations too… anything else I should write here? Hmm. Lastly, I’ll be updating this list as I see fit, and as new information comes to light. So check back in later and the list will likely look a lot different. Such is the nature of the metagame.
