Dragon Blaze Guide

Starting the Game

When you start Dragon Blaze, you have the option to level 1 character up to lv120. I would recommend choosing the Incanter, Warrior, or Archer as they are the most versatile, meta picks.

Allies

  • SSS and lower allies

These are the baseline fodder allies of the game. From C to SSS, these allies have skills and can carry gear, but for all intents and purposes are food for stronger allies. These allies can all be enhanced with allies of equal of lower level. For example, you can enhance 2 C grade allies to max by feeding them other C allies. Once these reach the max enhancement, they can be combined to create a B ally. This process is made easy by the Auto Combine Pet, which you should always have on. Ultimately, you want to end up with a large number of SSS allies, which are then used to enhance and create other kinds of allies as follows.

  • Deities

A deity is created by enhancing an SSS ally to max (this has to be done manually, use S and lower allies to do this). Then, you must feed 5 SSS allies to the max SSS to limit break it. Then, you can turn that SSS into a deity that corresponds to its class. A long time ago, deities were used across all contents, but are now relegated to food for the next type of ally, the transcended.

  • Transcended Allies

These allies are created by sacrificing a deity and some essence. The start at base and can be max, ultimate and arch enhanced. Costs for this can be found here. Ignore everything about keys, light, hero and titan essence as they are no longer in the game. Before the OL update, transcended allies were the strongest in the game. However, they are now going to be outclassed by the Overlords. This does not mean they are without purpose. As a new player, you will receive some Transcended tickets. Use these to take Chronos, Helios, and Selene. These allies will help you clear through content and fill in team slots while you progress to full Overlord teams. You will also notice that you have been gifted five Ultimate Enhance Transcended Dracos. Use these to fill in team slots, especially Greysoul and Blackaria, who are reasonably strong.

  • Overlords

Fresh off the presses are the Overlords, a new class of ally that are stronger than the transcended. As of now, we will have 7 available. You can check my guide here for a rundown of what they do. You start with an OL select ticket. I STRONGLY recommend taking Arin. She is the strongest of the OL across almost all content and stays in the meta for a long time. Past this, you will need to sacrifice and Arch Enhanced Transcended ally to make other OLs. Once you gather the resources, I would suggest Arch enhancing Blackaria to make Chen. She is a strong healer that can help immensely with your teams’ survivability. Past this, I suggest joining the DB Discord here and looking at the pick rate of allies here (only look at the overlord era). These resources can help you plan which Overlords to make in the future and which content you’d like to focus on.

  • Souls

These are combinations of 5 sss from one class that are used to enhance OLs. For example, 5 rouge SSS combine to make 1 rogue soul, which is used to enhance a Rogue OL. You can exchange souls between classes, but it costs 1 soul to do so. For example, 6 rogue souls can become 5 incanter souls.

Resources and Items

  • Gems

Gems can be equipped in the open slots found on gear. They boost the equipped allies stats and are very important to making your allies as strong as they can be. Put the different gems on certain classes of allies to maximize the bonuses. STA gems are generally not recommended to equip.

  • INT: Priests, Incanters, Mages
  • STR: Warriors, Paladins
  • DEX: Rogues, Archers
  • Cards

Cards are an addition to allies that give certain effects along with a main stat. There are 4 predetermined main stats you will always be seeing with cards, STA, STR, DEX, and INT. You can usually ignore the main stat if you get 2 good effects. The cards you are looking for on PvE DPS allies are boss damage, random damage, and a matching main stat, commonly referred to as Boss/Vary. You can skimp out on these cards if you were unlucky with your pulls. Common secondary cards people use are base damage, boss damage, main stat, fixed damage, boss damage, main stat. For PvE DPS allies, the main thing you will be looking for is boss damage. For PvP DPS allies, you will be looking for base damage, random damage, and a matching main stat, commonly referred to as base/vary. Again, you can skimp out on these cards if you were unlucky, and go for fixed damage and random damage, fixed damage and base damage, or a combination of attack speed and either base or random damage. For PvE buffers, mainly incanters(Arin in the case of this upcoming patch) and priests(Chen in this case), you are looking for attack speed as your main priority, and boss damage for your incanters, or base damage, for your priests. You can also skimp out if you were unlucky, and just prioritize attack speed and any other stat. To summarize:

  • PvE DPS: Boss damage, random damage of change, attack speed
  • PvP DPS: Random damage, base attack, attack speed
  • Buffers/Healers: Attack speed, base attack, damage reduction
  • INT: Priests, Incanters, Mages
  • STR: Warriors, Paladins
  • DEX: Rogues, Archers
  • STA: Only put on if the given stats are correct
  • Transcended Essence

These are used to create and enhance allies. Transcended Essence (tess for short) are vitally important and should only be spent on allies that will have a large impact on your teams. If you are unsure about who to enhance, again ask in the DB discord channel or consult the wikipedia pick rate.

  • Magic Scrolls

Acquired through running dungeons, magic scrolls impart a special effect on the weapons equipped to your allies. To start out with, aim for cooldown reduction (CDR) on all of your weapons. THIS IS NOT A MAIN STAT. DO NOT LOOK FOR IT WHEN ACQUIRING GEAR FROM RAIDS.

  • Gear

Very important in terms of powering up your allies, only obtainable in raids, or buying helper gear in shops. Helper Gear is a viable option for new players (costs 300 rubies), it has decent stats, will give you a general idea on what to look for in terms of stats, it will help you get through story, and clear raids. Your Dracos will come with Helper Gear. Though as soon as you are able to fight the latest raid I suggest you farm gear in those raids. A new raid will be coming soon so wait for that to drop before making a serious effort at upgrading your gear.

Stats are very annoying to get perfectly, it takes time and patients to get the right stats. Typically you would want:

Helmet, Arm, Leg: Immunity, Debuff, Decrease Critical Damage, and Class stat.

Body Armor: EVA, Decrease Critical Damage, Immunity/Debuff, Class Stat

Long Swords, Daggers, Staffs, Bows: Critical Damage & Rate, Accuracy, and Defence Penetration

Quiver: Critical Damage & Rate, Defence Penetration, and DEX stat.

Orb(Mage, Incanter secondary): Critical Damage & Rate, Defence Penetration, and INT stat.

Shield: Critical Damage & Rate, EVA, and STR stat.

This is just a general idea of what you’d want. You do not have to be perfect about this. Try to get 3 of the 4 stats. Getting critical damage & rate is highly favored.

Enhancing your gear is also a very important. From base to max you can use other gear to enhance it, use the gear that has crap stats.  From max to ultimate you enhance by using the limit break stone, obtainable from Nebula raid. Nebula will be very challenging for new players as people with strong teams can deal 99+ percent of the damage. Stick with it and ask around for what team you should be using with the allies you have.

Farming

To acquire the above items, you need to farm. Farming is a very common term throughout all games. In the case of Dragon Blaze, this involves taking a team of allies into a dungeon and leaving it on Auto-Retry. Farming is an integral part of progressing further in terms of your team’s power, which ultimately brings you success in other forms of content as a result of you getting stronger.

What do you need?

  • Dungeons

The first important thing that you need to have access to are the consensus ‘best’ dungeons to farm at. This means you have to go through the story up until that point. As a new player, you get a free level 120 (as you know) and you should already have access to a dungeon that you can farm at. The ‘best’ dungeons to farm at are; Temple of Prophecy 9 and Sufanta Lake 9. They are found in chapter 5. Temple of Prophecy gives better ally drop while Sufanta gives better gold.

  • Shoes

To be able to go into dungeons, you need to have access to shoes. Each dungeon costs 2 shoes to run, 4 if you have burning gauge (see below). For the Auto-Retry function to work, you need to have at least that many shoes owned. As with a lot of mobile games, there’s a certain amount you can gain innately. For Dragon Blaze, it’s capped at 30, gaining 1 every 10 minutes. But you can buy a lump sum of shoes with rubies, as well as getting some just by logging in daily. If you’re planning to be farming (which you should be!) for a long period of time, make sure to purchase these in the shop! (200 Rubies per 500 shoes, 40 per 100).

  • Burning Gauge

This is a function recently added to the game that boosts the drop rates of items in dungeons. It is strongly recommended that you only farm while you have burning gauge point (you can check by clicking the flame on the top right of the screen). You can feel free to progress through the story while the gauge is down.

  • Inventory

Your character’s inventory is also pretty important when it comes to farming. Firstly, to be able to run forever, you need to have more than 4 empty slots in your inventory. Every dungeon run gives you varying qualities of equipment, cards, and gems as well as the occasional essence. While Essences, Gems, and other things like magic scrolls stack on top of one another, Cards and Equipment will not. This is why you should buy pets.

In addition to just your character’s backpack, there’s an ally inventory you need to take care. When you access you ally screen, you’ll see 4 categories at the top. Overlords, Transcended, Deify, and Normal. The normal section of your ally inventory is the one you need to track the most care of. While running your dungeons, you’ll acquire allies, which can be used to enhance other allies in order to up their rarity as mentioned previously. As with Cards and Equipment, these also will not stack on each other, but luckily there is a pet to help take care of your allies.

  • Pets

To farm effectively for long periods of time, there are pets that can be purchased to essentially make the game ‘less interactive’. Pets basically do all the hard work for you, and you’re just left with making sure you have enough shoes and tickets to run whatever you choose to do. There are four pets you can buy with Rubies, and 2 more that you can buy with real money. The ‘first purchase’ of the ruby pets will cost full price, while to extend them, there will be a bit of a discount. Essentially you want to make sure you have enough to keep all four ruby pets active at all times, and extend them whenever needed.

  • Auto Ally Combine Pet – This is the pet that takes care of your ally inventory for you. Any C ally acquired from anywhere will be used to enhance S allies, and B allies will be used to enhance SS allies automatically. In the pet menu, you obviously need to make sure you have it active. Other sections you want to have check for sure are ‘Auto Combine’ and ‘Use A Grade’. What this does is when there are two allies of the same rarity that are MAX, the pet will auto combine them for you. ‘Use A Grade’ will use any A allies acquired on SS allies. This can occasionally be unchecked, if you want to.. say, use A grades to enhance SSS.

  • Auto Item Salvage Pet – This is the pet that essentially takes care of the of the equipments that will ultimately clog your inventory if you don’t have it active. Having the pet active means you’ll automatically salvage any equipment obtained from C to S grade (Because lets face it, you won’t need any of these.) Options that you want to have checked are ‘Salvage SS item’. This essentially does the same thing it does innately to SS grade quality. Others can be left off.

  • Auto Item Combine – This pet takes care of the gems and cards that will clog your inventory. Having it will automatically combine gems you acquire when they reach the number necessary (10) up until you have SS gems. You should have ‘Combine SS Jewels’ checked in the pet menu and the pet will also combine SS jewels to SSS. SSS gems, you’ll have to combine them on your own everytime you get 10 or more. Additionally, it’ll combine Cards up until SSS. Checking the option ‘Combine SSS card’ will combine every 4 SSS cards you get to get a U card. Additionally, you should also Check ‘Combine U Card’ to make sure you combine the U cards you get until you get a Double stat card.

  • Auto Raid – While this pet isn’t used for ‘farming for essence’, it will be necessary for Farming raids. Having this pet will allow you to auto retry any raid as long as you have the revive scrolls (which can be purchased in the shop for a small amount of rubies) active and equipped in your inventory.
  • Accessories

As a new player, there’s an accessory you can purchase that can further enhance the benefits you get from farming. These are called ‘Prepared Adventurer’s Ring’s. You can purchase these a different shop than the one in the home menu. Just hit Fight > Honor Gorge and in the bottom right there’s an option called ‘Coin Shop’. Once in the menu, Tap on the left most ‘Items’ option, then ‘Accessories’ and you should find them there. Each one costs 100 coins (acquired from doing daily/weekly content), and you can have 3 equipped on your person while farming.

Note! You can only get the benefits from adventurer rings on your main character. Do not buy 15 of these of your entire team and expect 15x the benefits.

Content

  • Challenger Dungeon

When you get your allies a bit stronger (via runes, gear, etc.) You should consider transferring your farming over to the Challenger Dungeon. You can find the Challenger Dungeon in Fight > Challenge Gorge. However, there is a requirement that your Main Character be a certain level to access it.

Challenger Dungeon is like any normal dungeon, just with the added bonus of gaining Challenger Levels. These Challenger Levels translate into Skill levels that benefit your team across all content. Don’t fret if you can’t even do the first level when you first try it; for new players they tend to be difficult.
Just like any normal dungeon, entering costs 4 shoes per run on burning gauge. The higher the floor you’re on, the more challenger exp you earn for -completing- the level, and you can auto retry any level you choose. Additionally, like normal dungeons, there are certain ‘good’ levels to farm at. As a new player, you should aim for areas like floor 7/11/14. As you get stronger, areas like 18 and 21 should be moved into. Eventually, you should try and push up to floor 42.

In terms of Challenger Skills, for each level, you’ll get 1 skill per page (it’ll always be in the same order). You should focus on 1 stat-line and max it out before moving on. And, as you’ll find out, some stats are more beneficial in different content than others. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to reset for free so don’t hesitate to change it around.

For the first page (main stat), you should level up the statline that will benefit your team the most. For Instance, if you have a lot of rogues and archers, it should be dex. Mages? Int. Warriors/Paladins? Str. The second page should have a focus of accuracy in PvP (but as a new player, just having accuracy in general until you’re able to -hit- things without it is good.) and Crit Damage/Crit Rate in PvE. The third page should focus on Evasion in general first, followed by immunity for PvE and Decrease Crit in PvP. The last page? This is all preference, but the good first ones to level up involve Essence or Gold Acquisition.

  • Daily Dungeon

One of the main things to make a habit of while playing Dragon Blaze is to start opening and playing Daily Dungeons. Daily Dungeon is a dungeon that you can enter for free once a day. You can open any daily dungeon one extra time every day for 150 extra rubies. Sometimes this cost gets discounted to 120 per day. I recommend opening Wednesday, Friday, Saturday  dungeons with rubies every day. All of the daily dungeons except for Tuesday’s dungeon are worth the rubies to open, butmost players are limited with rubies, so I recommend only opening the three dungeons I have mentioned earlier per day. You should also open Monday dungeon every so often depending on how short you are on SS allies.

  • Calydon

When you spend shoes or tickets, your Calydon meter will fill up, capping at 10,000. You can spend 10 shoes and 1,000 points to fight against the Calydon pigs. Doing so will net you gold, allies, gems and essence. I strongly recommend doing this whenever it becomes available as you will get additional resources to further you game. Bring a team with a DPS, Chronos, healer and buffer.

  • Raids

Raids are where you farm your gear. Raids usually show up in the “Adventure” section. You mainly want to be farming the last raid that is available to you. Every run of raid, you get raid essence which should be used to get a certain gear piece to combine with other pieces to try and roll your desirable stats. I strongly recommend getting the Dark Fury pet from the shop which allows you to set raid on auto farm. You can skip this step if you desire to save rubies, but raid will be very painful without it. Another thing to note is that to enhance gear, you need to use other gear as fodder to get it to max. After max, you will be needing limit break stones to get it to ultimate, which are acquired in the Nebula raid.

These stats come with different colors, Red gives out the most stats among the Orange and White stats. As a beginner aim for getting as many of the stats listed above, but don’t obsess too much. Getting crit rate/damage on weapons and decrease crit damage are the most important, everything else is secondary. I do not recommend buying lock scrolls as a new player. It can get very expensive and rubies are better spent farming and on Daily Dungeon.

Now Transcended Equipment is fairly easy but takes a while to get. Fragments are acquired in the Saturday daily dungeon and through login events periodically. You need 30 fragments of one item, and 30 trans essence to make. A normal piece of gear can be merged with the transcended equipment to gain boosted stats. Do not stress too much over this as a new player.

  • World Bosses

At the moment, there are 5 active world bosses available in the NA/EU/SEA servers. We will talk mainly about these bosses, but another one will be added later. I will not be explaining this one, but you can find information on it when it comes via reddit/korea server channel on the Dragon Blaze discord server.

What are world bosses? You can essentially think of it as an entire server raid of a gigantic monster. Each run will cost 2 tickets. Each run can last anywhere from 0 seconds, to 10 minutes (depending on the strength of your party.). Each world boss can be attempted a maximum of 10 times for free, and you can buy extra runs for rubies after those first 10.

What it essentially is a team that you comprise will be hitting the boss until they die or time expire. You get a certain score based on the damage you deal, and the score you achieve will be what gives you your ranking (and rewards) for that world boss. Each world boss has different mechanics at play, and you should consider tailoring your team to fit these mechanics to achieve a higher score. As a new player, focus on what you have, and you can worry about building a team composition for each world boss afterwards. Lots of information is floating around, and for the sake of not making it longer than it already is, I won’t go in depth for each boss.

Each world boss on the global servers lasts for ~24 hours, and will happen on each of the 5 weekdays (Monday – Friday)

  • Monday – Erebos

This world boss is very unique. As a new player, you shouldn’t worry about this world boss too much as it can be considered the most difficult one. Different mechanics are at play compared to the others. This world bosses uses 10 of your allies, and one of them cannot be your main character. These allies make up a giant machine that will fight the world boss for a maximum of five minutes (yes, I know I said 10 earlier, but this one is different.) Your Giant machine is allowed 3 skills, and different skills are active based on if you have at least 1 of a certain class that makes up the composition of your machine (called Arch Buster.)

For now, just put your best allies that you have access to, and then whatever skills you have available, then mix and match, test new skills, etc to see which will score you the highest.

Note! The rest of the world bosses explained are more ‘traditional’ world bosses. For these world bosses, the time limit will be 10 minutes, and you can bring a team of your main character + 4 allies, along with 2 other helper allies.

  • Tuesday – Golem

For Tuesday’s world boss, you and your team will be fighting a golem. This world boss is what we call a ‘magic-team’ world boss. Essentially, mages and any sort of magical damage allies will score higher than physical-based allies in this world boss, but given the limited resources you have as a new player, you can only have so many magical allies at one point. It’s okay to have some physical allies too if that’s all you have, so don’t worry.

  • Wednesday – Cerberus

This World Boss is an interesting one. Cerberus is a world boss that will absorb any sort of buffs that your team receives to become stronger. Essentially, this is a boss that will test your teams pure damage without any sort of buffing. If you read through your ally’s active abilities, any sort of buffing that they do will basically be eaten up by Cerberus, and he will grow in strength and attempt to wipe your party. As a result, try to limit the amount of buffs that you bring.

Note! Just because you can bring 2 helper allies to this world boss.. doesn’t necessarily mean you should. In the case of Cerberus for new players, it’s likely more beneficial to -not- bring an ally than to bring one that buffs your team like crazy. Mess around with things and see how they work here.

  • Thursday – Hydra

Hydra is a contrast to Golem. Physical allies tend to do better here than magical allies, so try to tailor your team to focus more on those. Additionally, Hydra has multiple heads that act as hit-able targets for your team, meaning aoe damage can -potentially- score more here. Either way, it’s pretty simple and I’ll say it again; use what you have, mix and match and change your team around to try and score higher.

  • Friday – Shariet

This is a world boss that tests your ability to buff! In this world boss, you will receive the help of 3 other allies.. which will ultimately be most of your score. Each ally comes in a certain point during the fight, but by the first couple of minutes, all 3 will come out and be fighting the boss alongside of you. These allies, called the Varman Family, are physical based allies, so they’ll benefit from any physical sorts of buffs, as well as the typical attack speed, boss damage, etc. Focus more on allies that can buff, rather than dps allies (though of course, some dps allies have some sort of buffing you can use until then). Remember, passive party buffs from allies will also be included when ‘buffing’ the Varmans!

  • Arena

Arena is a PvP type mode where you comprise a team of your main character and 4 allies + 1 helper and pit them against other people’s registered teams. Each arena period opens Monday and 6am PST and lasts til Sunday at midnight PST. At any point, you can choose to attack any teams that you pull (don’t worry, you can refresh the list) as many times as you want. Everybody starts the week when they register with 1000 points. A loss will lose you 4 points from your score, while wins will range from +9-+12 base (12 if you beat the guy listed first, 9 if you beat the guy listed last) base points, plus a winstreak bonus if you’re on a winstreak (up to 20 bonus!). As well, successful defenses gives you 6 points per win! Being a new player, do what you can! Don’t try too hard to win if you know you can’t.

Arena teams are different from world boss teams in that things like boss damage aren’t very effective against other player’s units, while stats like accuracy are extra important. These are specifics, but if you have any sort of challenger dungeon level, you should switch them around based on if you do Arena or world boss. You should prioritize accuracy and evasion in your challenger dungeon levels if you can.

Additionally, things like allies that revive dead units (Blackaria, Mercedes, Kymael, Overlord Chen) give your units essentially a second chance to fight. These units are very common in the arena ‘meta’ so if you plan to focus on arena, this is something you should think about! Another thing you need to consider, since people will have a lot of revives, is resurrection blocking. Some units (Chronos, Greysoul) bring this skill of being able to block a unit from reviving/being revived; another good thing to have in arena! Miyu MK5 and Ban are also great in arena if you make them.

  • Tag

Tag is another PvP game mode, but differs from Arena. Instead of a team, 1 ally is put out into battle against another person’s ally and they essentially ‘fight to the death’. But you can choose to tag in units if they get low, to counter, or to defend based on the given situation. Again, this is very specific, so not much detail will be put into that. You will face AI controlled opponents with their registered teams. Just like with Arena, winning will gain you points (increases with win- streaks) and losing will give you a net loss of 4. Successful defenses defenses give you 6 points

Each ally is allowed to bring an active ‘active’ skill into battle. These active skills will be used when they come into battle, and have a cooldown, just like any other active skill, before it can be used again. You’re given a set of 5 or 6 skills that you can use right away, along with extra ones that you can buy for a small sum of rubies. Don’t worry too much about those for now.

Important ‘free’ Skills include untouchable, which renders a unit invulnerable from damage (other than any reflect damage) for a period of time, and meteor, which is a nuke ability. These two skills should be put on allies that are your biggest threat (untouchable) or are very damage heavy (meteor) to provide best value. With a small sum of gold, you should enhance these to level 10 at some point in time if you choose to continue playing the game.

There are a lot of intricate details to be a successful Tag Match player. The best Tag Matchers in the server have very high win rates against the opponent, since it’s AI controlled (and lets face it, the AI isn’t always the best.) For now, I’ll save you the description, but you can ask around and find information if you want to continue playing.

  • Orc Fortress

Orc Fort or Orc Fortress is a PvE content in the Challenge Gorge that rewards Black Weapon or Armor scrolls upon completion. These scrolls grant 2 random magic effects onto weapons and armor. These allow two effects to be put onto weapons and armor instead of 1, which is a big deal. This content may be too hard for new player and you may find yourself unable to complete it, so don’t worry about it. Also, this content will be buffed with Overlord patch and may require a decent team of Overlords to complete so the information here may change. To run Orc Fort you will need to spend Shoes, and the amount double with every attempt starting with 2, then 4, 8 and so on. Orc Fort consists of 9 wave of enemies with bosses on wave 3, 6, and 9. Oddly enough, wave 6 boss is the hardest one and will most likely going to kill you. As you progress, give Orc a try every now and then to see if you can clear it. Ask around and people will tell you which of your allies will excel in it as we aren’t sure what teams should look like in the OL meta.

  • Guild Loot/Siege

Guild Siege and Guild Loot is a 2 part PvE guild content in the Guild Gorge. Guild Siege happens every Sunday at 7pm Pacific time. Everyone will be going through a series of regular mobs waves until miniboss appears after a number of waves then you will be attacking the boss until the time is up, which is 30 minutes for the whole thing. After Guild Siege is over, the server will add up the score of everyone in the guild and rank them. Top 5 guilds will own the castle of their ranking which put us in the second part of the content, Guild Loot. Guild Loot is unlocked every Monday at 7pm, where everyone in the guild attack the castle(for top 5, they can’t attack their own castle but will gain passive reward everyday) the same way they do for Guild Siege until the castle is destroyed. The reward for these modes is calculated by how well you do in Siege and how much you contribute in Loot. JOIN A GUILD ASAP TO GET THESE RUBY.

  • Guild Adventure

Guild Adventure is a PvE guild content in the Guild Gorge. Guild Adventure happens every Saturday at 7pm Pacific time. Everyone in the guild will attack a boss enemy which will appears a total of 9 rounds, getting stronger with every round. You will get reward based on how well you do against everyone else in your guild, a friendly competition if you will. If your guild found yourself unable to complete it in reasonable time(you have 2 hours to do it) I suggest you quit after round 7 because after that, the boss gets quite a lot stronger but the reward isn’t that much higher, to save time to go back to farming and such.

  • Guild Battle

Guild Battle is a PvP guild content in the Guild Gorge. Guild Battle record resets every Sunday night at midnight pacific time and start over at 6am on Monday along with all other Gorge contents. In Guild Battle, you will take your team of 5 characters plus 5 helpers that your guildmates registered(and please never use auto select, try your best to pick the strongest helpers and also try to plan the order of the helpers in which they will come into the fight). The helpers aren’t summoned at the start of the fight like other content but instead will be switching in to replace any dead allies(not your MC, if dead will stay dead and won’t be replaced) like in Revenge of Belphegor. The score that you get for this mode is a sum of the points you gained from winning, from defending from other players that get matched against your team, and from helper points which is given when your registered helper ally was used to win a match for other guildmates, this helper point has a cap from 10,000 points.

  • Nightmare

Nightmare is a content that changes weekly. There are 7 floors, each progressively harder, each containing another player’s arena team from the week prior. Usually the final floor features one of the very best players in the game. As such, it can be very hard for new players to clear. Give it a try every week, but it’s very unlikely you will be able to progress very far in it until you grow a lot more in strength.

  • Revenge of Belphegor

Called RoB for short, Revenge of Belphegor is a PvE content where you send a team of allies to rescue the princess from the Dragon. It contains 8 separate rounds, each containing 5 waves of monsters. Scoring is based on how far you go and how fast you clear. For new players, focus on trying to get to the end. Strong buffers and AOE damage dealers excel here as they clear the trash waves rather quickly. Once you are clearing the whole thing, you can improve your score by starting at round 8, using the invincible skill, and clearing it again. You receive additional points based on the time remaining in the round.

Spending Rubies

Rubies funds everything in this game and are the premium currency. Every week on Monday you receive rubies for Arena, Tag, RoB, Guild Battle, and Unify Rank. You get rubies from World Boss they day after they close and from completing daily tasks. As a new player, you can acquire a ton of rubies by raid rushing (Click fast rubies earning with each class and IGNORE ALL OTHER INFO IN THE GUIDE IT IS OUTDATED). Here is what you should spend them on.

  • Shoes ✔️✔️✔️

Shoes are a must. It is recommended to buy at least 1500 shoes a day or at least enough to use up your Burning Gauge.

  • Pets ✔️✔️

1000% recommended. Makes your life easier. You only need the raid one when you are doing those content.

  • Tickets ✔️

Tickets are fuel PvP, raids and RoB. Buy them if you need them to do these contents.

  • Burning Gauge Capsule ✔️

These are optional but recommended if you have extra rubies. It is a great resource to get as replenishing your gauge means more essence, allies etc.

  • Revival Scrolls ✔️

Only needed when raiding. Buy them to help clear raids consistently.

  • Gold ❌

Gold is not recommended. I usually buy them if I’m in desperate need. You will feel real bad about spending rubies on this. I do not recommend because farming gives quite a bit gold.

  • Cards/Jewels ❌

Absolutely not. Waste of rubies, you are able to get these from just farming. Another scam.

  • Equipment Link ❌

As a new player you will not need to unlock these right now. Do not spend here.

  • Magic Scrolls ❌❌❌

Never. You can get enough from farming.

  • SSS Allies ❌❌❌

A horrible choice. I will never recommend this. Another scam.

  • Trans Essence ❌❌❌

Truly a waste of rubies if you do. Avoid this scam.

Formations

What are formations? Similar to other games, a formation is a specific setup with certain positions for each of your party members. In Dragon Blaze, these have certain names, with different positions for different classes (unless it’s listed as any). Certain formations give your team certain edges in terms of content (PvP and PvE) and its important to maximise the score you get for better rewards.

Each new formation you want to buy costs 99 rubies. Every Formation gains levels as you use it in PvE dungeons, and the levels cap out at 30. What does each level give you? Formation points to level up certain positions within that formation. You get 29 formation points (level 1-30) to put into positions. These formation points will be explained later. Each ally in your team has to fill out each position for the formation effect to work. If not, you will not get the benefit.

When starting the game, you get access to a couple of formations innately. Solidarity of Heart, and Noble Chivalry. Solidarity of Heart is mainly an EXP formation (i.e, levelling units) and will occasionally show up in some content. This formation is the most ‘general’ because there are no specific allies you need for the formation to work. Noble Chivalry on the other hand, isn’t really used at all, but if it is, you will generally see it in PvP or use it when farming challenger dungeons (because high floor mobs do a load of upfront damage) because of it’s formation effect. This formation requires 2 warriors/paladins, 1 priest, and 2 of anything else.

Other formations you should consider picking up are Fire Support, Fire all at One, Incredible Concentration, Unbreakable Will, and Protection of Heavens. All of these formations have their place, but if you only choose to pick up 1 extra at the moment before delving into the specifics of the others? Choose Fire Support since it can act as a formation for everything you do.

To make sure that you have the correct allies in your team, you can look at your ally menu in the ally inventory and it will tell you what ‘role’ the ally fits. Note! A warrior is not always a tank! And if an ally fits under one role (DPS/Tank/Healer), it will not work in another. (i.e. You cannot put Deathcrown [listed as DPS] into a tank position, but however, he’ll always fit in a warrior position.)

Formation Points – These formation points are put into position levels. Each position has a certain benefit added to the ally placed in the position. Some positions for some formations are better, and each position has a maximum level of 10. For best maximisation, you should level 3 positions to 10 (typically, unless specific circumstances arise).

For ease, I will only talk about formation points for Solidarity of Heart, Noble Chivalry, and Fire Support.

From front to back, for each of the formations you should eventually have;

Solidarity of Heart –

10

10/10

Any/Any

Noble Chivalry –

Any/Any

10/10

Any

Fire Support –

1

10/10/10

3

In some cases, you might see different points put in different positions. To reset, it’ll cost 100 rubies, but don’t go and reset the formation points constantly because your rubies are better off spent elsewhere. Eventually, you’ll learn about how to maximise the allies in these positions, and have to change accordingly, but only do so if you know that it’ll make a difference. Each case is different, so remember that as well. Some might not have these exact points, which is understandable.
