Dynamites: (Click here to go back to top)

Cat Machine: A

A former meme, the infamous cat machine has made an unprecedented comeback in his true form. While fairly useless before, once you get his true form, the cat machine becomes a marvelous stat stick, and even more so against reds. However, there remains his relatively slow attack animation as well as his horrible range. His saving grace is becoming shockwave immune in true form, as well as gaining the (so far) unique ability called shockwave blocker, which prevents units behind him from getting damaged by shockwaves, and goes well with his short range. However, he still gets demolished quickly by enemies he doesn’t resist, and shockwave blocker isn’t the most useful all around ability. This plants him solidly in A, although his situational usefulness only gets him to that point

Baby Cats: A

Like cat machine, before their true form, the baby cats were a terrible unit overall. However, upon true form, it gains the range it needs to be useful. Stat-wise, it’s a very solid unit, with high HP and high damage. It also costs relatively little compared to other ubers and recharges quickly, combined with decent speed gets them to the front lines. True form also grants shockwave casting ability, which helps in wiping out peons. A useful ability contained by all forms is immune to stop and knockback against floating/aliens. Immune to stop is situational, but this unit can be a lifesaver against henry, the annoying anglerfish that almost perma-stops all unit he can hit, so this unit is a hard counter to that. Additionally, knockback is a decent ability. While it can mess up timings and make other units miss, it can be useful. Weaknesses include mediocre range in TF, and bad range outside of it. It also attacks quite slowly, once every ~10 seconds and has a slow animation to boot. Definitely one of the better A tier units.

Ice Cat: A

A decent unit with an excellent ability. However, this is only refined in true form. Without true form, she has a 50% chance to freeze reds, which can be helpful first time you face enemies like Bore. However, in regular/evolved form, her range is awful, sitting at 325. This combined with her low health creates problems with her survivability. However, this is fixed with true form, increasing range to 425 and increasing damage. The real change is that she has a 100% chance to freeze reds. With freeze cat combos, she can freeze any red enemy indefinitely. For instance, soloing red cyclone is no big deal. Be warned that her HP is still fairly low and her range, while usable, isn’t great by any means. She isn’t overly useful against anything other than red enemies. Despite these flaws, she’s an invaluable unit against reds, putting her in A with the rest of the situational but fantastic units.

Lesser Demon Cat: B

The lesser demon cat, like it’s brethren in the dynamites, gained quite a bit in true form. His greatest strength is his unparalleled DPS. Takes a swing every few seconds, dealing over 60k per hit in true form. The catch? He’s single target. This is a tradeoff, as giving him area attack would make him pretty overpowered. He also has low range, although that is mitigated a little by his high HP. Also resists weaken, so useful against certain enemies in that regard. Generally, his best use is against unsupported but high damage, slow attacking units. He can dish out extreme damage, but unfortunately, his ability to get his damage out is severely limited by the situation, and the situations needed aren’t as common as you’d like. A solid damage dealer, but his vulnerability to swarms is a weakness preventing him from being higher tier.

Nurse Cat: B

I’ll be honest here. I’m biased. What’s there not to love about this unit? Well, if you wanted a real summary, then you can start paying attention here. So nurse cat is an interesting unit that has been powercreeped a little over time. She’s a utility type unit. While her damage is respectable, it’s really how slow against floating and black enemies that makes her valuable. Stat-wise, she’s lacking some in the HP department and her move speed is mediocre. Her attack animation is on the longer side, and her attack interval isn’t long but isn’t short either. Her range is decent however. She does lack a true form right now, so a stat increase can be expected. Overall, she’s a solid unit that pulls her weight against the mentioned traits, as slow and knockback is a deadly combo, and you have a chance to proc one, the other, or both effects. Not a bad unit, but you’ll find better alternatives over time. A good pick for newer players due to covering two enemy types at once.

Marauder Cat: D

I know you’re seeing the D rank and wondering what kind of garbage you’re looking at. Well, you’re looking at solid gold if you’re stuck on a metal stage. He has the highest crit chance in the game aside from the 100% procs like waitress/sunny neneko, and he attacks at a reasonable rate with area attacks. He does fantastic against stages heavy with metal enemies. His immunity to knockback in true form makes him the perfect matchup for Super Metal Hippo, which tends to knockback your critical hitters before they get to land a hit. Marauder does not suffer from this problem. He also has low cost and fast recharge. If he’s this good, then why is he in D tier is what you’re thinking. Well, let’s look at his true form. 40k HP, not bad for a cat of his cost. Move speed a bit low, but not a huge problem. Couple of knockbacks, not bad. Attack speed isn’t horrendous. Attack: 6800. This is why he’s D tier. Because while he excels against metal enemies, he’s pretty much worthless in any other stage. With this kind of damage, he’s just barely wiping out peons, and he’s not very effective. He’s a unit that’s great at what he does, but his lack of application outside of his niche leaves him in D tier. So please don’t throw him out. He’s a great unit, just that he’s a unit good for one job and one job only. And when the time comes, you’ll be glad you have him.
