Yatagarasu cup
Preface:
- A 1 floor, FIXED 7×6 dungeon with style points boosted out the ass, making L spam the optimal way to score high.
- TPA is also significantly boosted, but shouldn’t be prioritized.
- There are a couple ways to build a team and this could be one of the easiest crowns ever. The standard team is bicolor L spam across 6-7 turns while the other is a 1 or 2 turn 1-shot that can easily crown in 1 go.
- A new way of L matching was introduced here using cascades, where one can obtain 8 L’s max per board. This method is fairly hard to learn so it’s only recommended for the most committed crown chasers.
- JP Top3 also used a leadswap strat but the engineering is super specific so that won’t be the focus of any sample teams.
- For how to regularly L combo, refer to the guide I wrote a while back found here.
- For how to cascade L combos, refer to fluff’s guide here.

Strats and what to bring
- Being 1 floor, your goal is to make as many L’s as possible before you kill. Having only 12 HP, you can get 6 regular boards off before killing assuming only 2 attributes on your team attack per board.
- One strat used by some and the JP #2 was using a bicolor with only 1 attribute, giving an extra turn.
- Your leads really don’t matter too much, but the common choice was Keela for her match 4 paired with the no skyfall badge. The match 4 allowed for the 8 L cascade board to maximize points, but there are some alternatives.
- Those without Keela can use Amnel, which is pretty much just as good although damcap may be an issue.
- If you don’t care for the L cascade and would like to do just regular matching, any nosf lead can work fine.
- The reason for nosf is 1) your cascades don’t get screwed up and 2) if you skyfall stuff you’ll kill faster.
- Your subs should be built around the boards you plan to use, with your skillboost sticks ideally never attacking. For example, if you’re using sheenas you probably shouldn’t use orpharion or despharion.
- Light was the most popular choice and not surprisingly is the easiest to cover as well, with all the sonias being common boards not having light.
- Damcap is the tricky part. One strat is to use a defense break like B&J with enhance killers on her which easily breaks 40mil the final turn, while another is to combo the last board naturally and use guard break to kill from a sub or lead, which will give more points overall.
- With the last floor being a perfect rainbow board, guard break is guaranteed, but you’re capped to 7 combos (6 if using 4 match lead) if you make an L of each, minus hearts of course. A good strat is using a heart changer (like JP #2) which will give more style points and possibly combos.
- Outside of L spam, the 1 shot strat is extremely straightforward and simple but may require certain actives. Sample team and videos with alternatives will be listed below
- Time and combo count is mostly irrelevant in this dungeon, so if you have to use slow boards that’s perfectly fine.
Sample teams
(*) Technically any of the teams encouraging L cascades can be ignored in favor of regular combos if you wish.
(**) GB = guard break awakening
(***) Disclaimer – almost every sample team uses Diaochan. For those without, consider only looking at the teams using B&J or get creative with sample team #8.
Team #1 (nosf badge, L cascades):
Team #2 (SB badge, regular L’s):
- A bit more awkward to build for, but same idea as the first team except you can just combo regularly versus cascade.
- If you have the nosf badge this build is extremely flexible.
- Kushi is a nosf lead that can make damcap a bit easier while Yomidra is just a NIAP option who happens to have L unlock, better options for both exist.
- Probably the best strat is using Keela lead and rely on the 4 match to not skyfall anything. Might take a few RNG runs but should be easier to build for.
Team #3 (alternative to team #2):
- Just more options, not necessarily any better or worse than the previous build. You can mix and match both elements as long as each board only has 2 pings and L is covered.
- For this particular build, you can use 1 Ronia since it’s 3 pings and Yagaterasu will have 1 HP before B&J.
Team #4 (nosf badge, L cascades, GB):
- Reiwa is mostly just a gimmicky way of completing the build. The template goes as such: Keela, Orph, Diaochan. The 3rd sub is usually any monocolor Sonia with L equip, while the lead or 4th sub ideally have L unlock and guard break awakenings, which are quite limited.
- The boards here are the most flexible, as anything that doesn’t include light works.
- The nosf badge could technically be anything if you want to gamble.
- Should score higher than previous two builds.
Team #5 (Any badge, regular L’s GB):
- Similar to Team #4 but switches to a nosf lead and regular L combos.
- For this particular build, glav equip is needed for damcap, but if you can switch Ariel to a better lead (also with nosf or badge if possible) you could get away with using Astalos or the KOF single enhance killer equip.
Team #6 (SB badge, regular L’s, GB):
- Same idea as team #2, just regular bicolors and L’s, although for this one you do need a board with haste to ensure Lightning will be up.
- The last floor is flexible. Valk is a cheap and low cooldown way of ensuring a final board, but you could use something like any other heart converter or L Kali for example which could prove better combo-wise.
Team #7 (alternative team #6):
- Just some additional options, this team specifically using some Xmas Sonia hastes to get skills like Ea w/bicolor up.
- Lutina is pretty whale but works very well in this dungeon. Tao Ren is also strong in the same regard, and either can go on almost any team built.
Team #8 (1 shot, RECOMMENDED STRAT):
- There are a lot of ways to build this team, and rather than breaking it down piece by piece I’ll just have various links in the sample vids section from other runs.
- Two things: 1) the board turn 1 is optional, you can get straight into one shotting if you want and 2) Jeanne/skyfall buff is optional as well. This is just a good way to hit 15c but regular skyfall exists too.
- The way to set up the cascade can be broken down into 4 steps below:
Step 1)
- Begin with the second wood orb from the top left and follow the pattern as such.
Step 2)
- Make your way around the perimeter with a “loop” at the top of the darks and bottom of the waters.
Step 3)
- Easiest step, just make a full loop around the perimeter
Step 4)
- Probably the hardest part since it requires a lot of specific moves, but this’ll set up 7 L’s with an additional cascade. Best to practice all of these in dawnglare/puzzle master or just in endless
