Introduction
When you reach around level 20, you’ll encounter your first “ascend” wall.
When you hit this wall, you’ll then need to look for certain items found in the world to Ascend those characters. One of those sought after items is called the Treasure Hoarder Insignia. This is not an exhaustive list. But this is where at least some of the monsters that drop them have been found.
Which Monsters to Hunt
As you may have guessed it, Treasure Hoarders Insignia only comes from one type of enemy: Treasure Hoarders. These enemies are natives to the Liyue area and are considered a human faction, which is quite different from the usual monsters you fight.
They travel in twos or threes at a time; however, there are no “elite” level mobs; they’re only classified as normal ones. They’re usually a combination of any of the types, namely: Scout, Marksman, Pugilist, Seaman, Handyman, Crusher, Electro Potioneer, Pyro Potioneer.
- Scout – Ranged
- Marksman – Ranged
- Pugilist – Melee
- Seaman
- Handyman
- Crusher
- Electro Potioneer – Elementalist
- Pyro Potioneer – Elementalist
Where do I Find Treasure Hoarder Insignia
Sad to say, there aren’t many Treasure Hoarders in Monstadt nation. Which might be quite of a drag since that means you’ll need to wait a bit before you can start farming them.
The ideal region you should be looking for is at Liyue, which you’ll eventually get around to once you’ve started exploring and going through the story more. In-game hours, if you play continuously for 5-10 hours, you should reach that point already. Treasure Hoarders are plentiful in Liyue, so you can farm to your heart’s content when you reach the region.
Treasure Insignia Locations
The listed locations below are the general area where they can be seen, but there might be other areas that the list may have missed, but at least you can start looking for them here.
- North of Springvale in Monstadt (only during the Raptor questline) – important to note that you will no longer be able to see them in that area after this quest.
- East of Luhua Pool in Liyue
- Between Mt. Tianheng and Lingju Pass in Liyue
- South of Mt. Tianheng in Liyue
- Houses and roads, south-southwest of Lisha, Liyue teleport
- Ley Lien Outcrops both Mondstadt and Liyue (rare)
It is important to remember that there are other locations where these enemies can show up, but the ones mentioned above are the most reliable and consistent. When out in the world, the general idea is, if you’re going around and you see a group of non-monster enemies, attack them. Chances are they’ll be treasure hoarders.
Why Do I Need To Hunt – Ascending Characters
With these insignias, you can now start ascending characters in Genshin Impact. Currently, there are only three characters which need these items for ascension:
- Kaeya
- Beidou
- Bennett
Ascending Characters
Remember, ascending heroes is essential since these provide an increase in overall stats and new skills and talents that help you on your journey through the game. Another use for these insignias is for weapon ascensions.
Weapons like Blackcliff Warbow, Crescent Pike, and Fillet Blade are just weapons that need them for their ascension. They are also being used as a pre-material for Silver Raven Insignias; once you can do so, use alchemy on them. These higher-tiered insignias are required for even higher ascension later on in your journey.
Although the whole process of hunting, collecting, rotating to different locations when they respawn and all that may be tedious for some people, it is essential to keep your end goal in mind when doing them. If you fail to utilize your characters’ ascend function, your characters may tend to be under-leveled and underpowered, making your quest more complicated than it has to be. We highly advise players to be very patient in hunting them since they will eventually pay off.
