The Dreamwaker’s Butterly event introduced the first-ever non-retrofit ultra-rare ship Shinano, and a whole new ship type, and some new gear.

1. Suzutsuki
a new top tier destroyer.
Skill 1: When entering battle, every Sakura Empire ship in the fleet increases its own FP/AA by 5%. When shooting down 2 enemy aircraft, it also increases her own FP/AA by 5%. This effect can stack up to 6 times.
Skill 2: Three seconds after entering battle, use a smokescreen and fire a unique barrage. The smokescreen increases the evasion rate by 40% and lasts for 5 seconds. Every 15 seconds in the battle, trigger the barrage again and has a 30% chance to use the smokescreen. When taking damage and fall below 20%, HP heals self for 15% max HP, can only trigger once per battle.
The skill 2 barrage at max level deals tremendous damage. At level 10, the barrage does:
- 16×40 normal shells
- 54×8 torpedoes
- The barrage is guaranteed to trigger and will proc once right after the battle starts.
The perfect balance of offense and defense
Suzutsuki is the most surprising ship in this event. She is an Akizuki class DD which means that she has the best stats distribution in the destroyer Class and has a main gun +1. Her overall stats are very similar to the PR ship Kitakaze, but she has 72 luck, making her more survivable.
Both her All-Out-Assault and skill 2 barrage shoots a lot of projectiles and has torpedoes included.
Her overall damage output is top tier in the DD category, and with main gun +1, she is excellent at shield breaking.
In chapter 12/13, there are many enemy aircraft, so her first skill will provide an impressive 30% FP/AA bonus. Even on maps without enemy aircraft, you can still get the full buff by running a full Sakura Empire Fleet.
A Torpedo Team Counter?
Aside from her excellent performance in PvE, Suzutsuki is also a powerful ship in PvP. Her smokescreen activates 3 seconds after entering battle, which means it will significantly reduce the initial torpedo barrage damage from your opponent.
Combine that with Noshiro in your team; Suzutsuki herself is a good damage dealer because of her ability to protect the vanguard; Suzutsuki is excellent in PvP.
Overall, Suzutsuki is an excellent destroyer. She has top-tier survivability among DDs and has sound damage output against all ship types. She also has the unique ability to deploy a fast initial smokescreen to protect your vanguard. Suzutsuki is currently the best destroyer to raise for clearing the main story content. However, in Operation Siren, destroyers are not very useful now, and she can not compete with Kitakaze due to PR ships siren damage bonus. So if you already have a reasonably competent team and want to prepare for the end game, Suzutsuki is not a high priority.
2. Shinano
First non-retrofit UR ship.
Skill 1: Three seconds after the battle starts, she launches a Recon Aircraft. When this ship launches an airstrike, she launches the following additional aircraft with the airstrike:
- 2 fighters drop 2×300 damage for each bomb
- 2 torpedo bombers, drops 3×260 for each converging torpedoes
Recon aircraft does not attack but applies a debuff to 1 random enemy ship; the debuff reduces the target’s FP/TRP/AA stats by 3% and increases damage taken by 3%. This debuff prioritizes humanoid/boss enemies and can stack 3 times.
Skill 2: During 1 sortie, increases own AVI by 15% for the first two battles. During the battle, fire a barrage every 15 seconds. When the other fleet without Shinano in the sortie enters their 3rd, 4th and 5th battle, Shinano is still afloat; she launches the barrage 15 seconds after the battle starts.
Skill: When the battle starts, and Shinano is still afloat, the FP/EVA/ASW increases by 15% for all destroyers. She also decreases her damage taken from shells/aircraft by 20% and increases AVI/HIT by 15% for Sakura Empire Light Carriers/Carriers in the same fleet.
The first skill for Shinano is powerful, the extra aircraft receives 100% AVI stats scaling, so the 4 additional aircrafts combined with Shinano’s high stats deals comparable damage to an airstrike from a light carrier.
She is currently way above all the other carriers in both offense and defense, especially with Nagato providing insane damage buff to Sakura Empire Carriers. She has an incredibly great single target focus fire. She is considered overpowered, her damage output is a level higher than the other carriers right now, and she has some supporting abilities.
3. Kii
She is a support ship.
Skill 1: Every 20 seconds into the battle, she has a 75% chance to fire a unique barrage.
Skill 2: When she is afloat, she increases 15% AA stat for Sakura Empire backline ships. When the battle starts, if there are more than 3 sakura empire ships in the fleet, she increases her FP by 10% and increases vanguard TRP by 10%.
She is an average battleship and outstanding support. She is good enough to carry your fleet through the early game but not strong enough to compete with top battleships in the game.
Munition Ship Type Quick Overview
It is a vanguard ship with 3 auxiliary slots, 1 anti-air gun slot, and 1 destroyer gun slot. It can carry 1 special cargo at a time. However, it has weak offensive stats, it is a weak destroyer without torpedo, and moves extremely slow.
Dreamwaker New Gear
The 2 gears sold in the Event Shop are Cargo for Munition Ship.
Cargo’s gold gun increases 10% Firepower stats for all backline ships and super cruisers in the same fleet.
The purple aircraft Cargo increases 8% aviation stats for all ships in the same fleet.
Only 1 cargo can be equipped at once, and with the current meta, only the gun cargo is valuable. However, since the purple cargo is not that expensive, I still recommend buying both.
The Shiden Kai 2 is a drop-only fighter aircraft on map HT6. It carries 2 standard 500lbs bombs with some good anti-air damage. It is overall slightly better F6F hellcat but not better than the top fighter aircraft in the game.
The hedgehog anti-sub mortar is obtained through a quest, and it is by far the most effective anti-sub weapon in the game right now.
The damage from hedgehogs is significantly greater than the other ASW weapons in the game. Since destroyers have the highest ASW stats, it is most effective on the DD.
However, the submarines in this event are pretty easy to kill, so just put it on a high-level DD/CL, and you can quickly eradicate the submarines in this event.
Starting from this event, ships no longer need sonar to see enemy submarines. It generates having the hedgehog on a destroyer is enough to kill all the submarines in the game, which makes this gear very important.
